The original publication talks about PC, Android and Smart TVs but I doubt someone can get full access to my machines without my consent with this exploit.
Unity sucks (my opinion and of many many others).
I use Ubuntu Gnome and before it was official I had to install and remove all the packages by myself.

I use both services and never saw any similarities between the logos.

I don't use any AV software. I don't need to. I have ClamAV in a live session for customers. And that way there's no files locked.
Been using Firefox since the first beta release. Will always be my favorite.
There's a name for the only apps that don't need to be installed and downloaded. It's called bloatware.
