  1. Gilrs Just Wanna Have Fun? on Girls Don't Want To Be Geeks · · Score: 1

Hey, how do we know their "poll" is accurate? Have they spanned all classes and income levels? If they sent out a survey with women's Cosmo bills, no wonder the bad results! And hey, I've had more luck with geek guys than your average Joe. Why would you want some pretty boy with no brains when you can have a gentleman with a brain and looks? Hey, look around, the geeks of today aren't the geeks of our fathers ladies. They're cooler. So raise your cramped and carpal-tunneled fists high and be proud to be geeks ladies!

Remember, someday, everyone will work for a geek.

  2. Fahrenheit on Fahrenheit 451 · · Score: 1

I read this book for the first time only about two years ago. They should make that a mandatory read in more schools, it's got enough historical implications to make it quite a though provoking piece. (Those who do not learn from history are bound to repeat it)

  3. These goofball artists... on Dr. Dre Might Sue Napster Users? · · Score: 1

These guys must actually think that they actually can sue ALL of Napster's users? How can you sue everyone, when not everyone has downloaded his music? And, I don't think you input any more personal information except for your username/password, so how is HE (Dr. Dre) going to sue us? Trace all the IP's that connect to the server? I don't think his fortune's that big, (but his ego is). I also used to have respect for Metallica, until they also hopped on the greed train and went after Napster. What is this world coming to!

  4. Re:Turning myself in too! on Geek Profiling: The Next W.A.V.E. · · Score: 1

Oh me next! I'm a geek! I wear the fashion suicide articles of clothing (at least that's the way I'm looked at) I don't get along with a single girl (if you can call them that) on my floor except my roommate, I'm alway in front of a computer, I've even covered all the letters and symbols on my keyboard with nail decals to be *GASP* DIFFERENT! But I'm an intelligent person, and why should that and my strange sense of humor, and my complete lack of desire to be in with the in crowds make me one that could be dangerous?

TURN ME IN, I'M GUILTY OF HAVING:
AN OPINION, A MIND OF MY OWN!
String me up, it's a witchhunt!

  5. There are some things that may never change... on Would You Ever Read A Newspaper Again? · · Score: 1

Yes newspapers appear to be going more obsolete. Yes they refuse to keep up with the times, and yes, the younger generations appear to be reading them less and less. Because no one makes us. Now, I'm not trying to place the blame anywhere, but who pushes us to read newspapers anymore? In education, an article here and there for current events helps, but why should we? To me there is something satisfying about reading a paper. I'm a business management student, I look at the ads, check the layout, and find news in there that I didn't find online. I only did the extensive study of a daily paper for a month, the length of my university's free paper pilot program. There is a dearth of good newspapers in my area (eastern central PA) and suddenly I had access to USA Today, The New York Times, and the Philly Inquirer. They opened my eyes to how worthy a paper could be! Before that I had been exposed mainly to two local papers all my life, and was throughly disgruntled with their content. But now that I know that good papers actually exist, I would be more inclined to read them. Hi, I'm AcidBurn, I'm a twentysomething, and I read newspapers. There will always be someone who will read newspapers, there may just not be enough to read them.

  6. Re:Darwinism on Scientists Manage Interspecies Birthing · · Score: 1

I'll drink to that! Strangely enough, there was just an episode of South Park where they repopulated the "Jakovasaur" which turned out to be a huge mistake!
