i had the problem of converting over to not using the dash. for the longest time, i would type ps -aux and get ps griping at me... i eventually converted, but now when i'm at school and try to do a 'ps aux' on IRIX, it has _no_ idea what it is.
btw, 'ps aux' makes me feel like i'm sending it to my mouse also:)
last week i was pricing laptops. So i went to Dell's website and priced an Inspiron. During the configuration, i was presented with this:
Operating System: Windows 95 Windows 98 SE No Operating System
but the thing is, you do not get a subtract on cost if you do not choose Win9x. so it seems that you are paying for it regardless if you choose to receive it.
i'm happy for CmdrTaco, it is always great for your fav band to get back together. me, i'm waiting for SoundGarden to do it. It's unlikely anytime soon, but i can always dream. BTW, Chris Cornell's new solo album is great. Everyone should go out and get it. It's different but none the less good.
at my job, we have decided to move our rh5.1 webserver over to openBSD...simply because of what we have seen. The rh5.1 system is flawless, but sometimes chokes up under heavy loads...personally i love linux, but i think this was a good move for the company.
While posting this reply, I could already feel the need for more servers. Not that the 9 times i received, 'Could not connect to remote server' had to do anything with it:)
While everyone else bitches, i just want to say Congratulations!! I beleive this is a move truly for the better for/. If all the ACs honestly believe that this is a bad move for/. , then there must be something wrong with all of them. Like Hemos has said numerous times, they keep control of the site no matter who owns it/sells it, etc. What does that mean? A better slashdot because Taco and Hemos have more time--and it will be faster!
i've been using RedHat since 4.2. when 6.0 came out, i just couldn't fork over the $70 like most people. I was kinda getting tired of the fact that RH seemed to be getting like M$, so i tried SuSE. I LOVE IT! 6.1 is great: easy to configure, faster, more stable, etc. i like YaST, and SaX is MUCH better than Xconfigurator.
the day i tried to live, i blew up the outsied world... Ryan
