Now that I think about it, all I wear are jeans and plain, single-color t-shirts. Today's is black. Odd, because I'm in a very good mood...
This is entirely different. AT&T had it's power rooted in fixed geographic areas, and so local service wasn't affected much. Long distance was much improved, though. As for MS, it's all intellectual property, and whether or not you like the philosophy behind intellectual property, it's much easier to divide than AT&T's property was.
He said "properly balanced". The Redeemer is suicide to use at close-to-mid range, and you only get *one* rocket before you have to pick it up again. And it's slow.
As for the BFG, it used up tons of ammo and was slow to fire, and a sufficiently smart player knew how to avoid it: You got out of the directional cone originating from the firing player. He fires north, you run south as fast as you fucking can. Both were properly balanced weapons.
Amazing. Someone else who's heard of Battlecruiser 3000. No, I've never played it, it's just that there's a bin full of boxes for that game right next to the HD display case at the local Staples.

Vicious insults in a public anonymous forum? As a Slashdot regular, I'm shocked that such a thing can exist.
Don't forget when the poor, defenseless, innocent, respectable RCMP officers pepper spray the mean, brutal hippie scum protesters with absolutely no communication between them and the PM's office.
(Sarcasm, for the clue-disabled...)
Honestly, Cretien and his cabinet scare me. I don't know what they're thinking most of the time. No matter what they do, they get off scot-free. And the citizens are no better. Most of us are worse sheep than the Americans public. No offense intended to any southern neighbors who can actually think for themselves. If it weren't for the CRTC's hands-off-the-Internet ruling and medicare, I'd move south in a heartbeat...
Just wait. Cretien will get elected. Again. Because the voters are retards who don't recognize a dictator when they see one.
At least we have *more* than two mainstream federal political parties. Last time I checked, we had five. Sounds like a healthy democracy to me, although the federal NDP's "mainstream" status could be debated.
As for being socialist, that's one thing that I like about this country. We've got a first-class medical system, available to every citizen. In my country, proper health care is a right, not a privelege.
Property of the state? Geez. Maybe you should take a look at the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. As was mentioned in this post, our constitutional rights include:
(a) freedom of conscience and religion
(b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other means of communication.
Gee whiz, it sure is too bad that us dumb Canadians are pawns of our evil socialist government. I guess I'll just have to go back to using the Internet without fear of some bigot passing laws limiting what I can say, and if I get sick I'll have to go see a world-class doctor. Damn our socialist values.
And the comedians on the CBC are far better than the dreck on "Whose Line Is It Anyway".
The fact that she doesn't hate Cretien. Besides, Conrad doesn't care much for anyone in federal politics. Just look at the National Post. It's full of personal attacks on all federal politicians, no matter what party they're in.
This is for HDTVs with serial digital interface capability. The difference would be seeing a DVD on a 30" digital TV rather than on a laptop screen, so that folks who don't have PCs can properly watch DVDs.
Of course, all this begs the question of "Who the hell can afford an HDTV with SDI but can't afford a PC". My guess is that this is *exactly* what the DVD cartel was planning on.
>Replace "a lot of supposed intellectuals" with >"everyone who understands the basics of english >grammar" and you have my point.
English grammar is a myth! It is a total and complete myth that English has a formal structure! The concept of "English grammar" is nothing more than retroactive continuity by those who fear something that cannot be predicted or described in minute detail. Formal grammar is a dying holdover from the days of scientific determinism.
My god, why the hell can't people understand that if your words can convey your meaning, it doesn't matter *how* you convey it? Language is a means, not an end. It is merely a tool to be used, not a law to be upheld or an idol to be worshipped on a pedestal!
I will boldly split infinitives! I will end a sentence with a preposition! I will dangle participles! I will do all these things because I damn well feel like talking like a human being! If you can understand what I'm saying, then the job of language is accomplished!
EOR
But I agree on your other point, the job of that ad campaign *was* to sell computers to morons. Anyone who buys one gets what they deserve. I feel sorry for the folks who have to use them at work.
Christa McAuliffe. Nah, she never blew up the Challenger with a GPF. 76 seconds just isn't enough time to boot up Windows. It probably crashed during bootup, not because of the crew.
I meant overall stability, not specifically games. Yes, X is not entirely stable, but X is not part of the operating system. The X server is an application, not an integral part of the OS. An X server crash doesn't hose the OS in Linux/*BSD, unlike a Certain Other Operating System.
Otherwise, I agree completely with you. Windows is currently much better suited to games than X on any platform. An alternative, though, is to have Linux games not use X at all. This would be more like games back in the days of MSDOS.
Will they be making data available on DVD-ROM? I lookd through the site, but couldn't find out. I would love to have these new MGS images on a DVD. It would be nice to have a different X background every hour for a few months without having to change discs.:)
Wouldn't on-the-fly encryption of all the data sent from Slashdot slow it down rather signifigantly? A fine idea for less-used websites, but not really applicable to one with the heavy traffic of Slashdot.
Hot damn! I guess that explains why my code looks the way it does after an all-nighter. Well, it could be because I'm using perl, too.
I think we should keep in mind this part of the Perl FAQ.
Heh. I never meant it that way, but you're right. :)

Heh. That place just screams astroturf. "Voices from the FIN" indeed...
I think all web sites should be completely Lynx-compatible, with violations being punishable by death. But that's just my opinion.

Sorry for the rant, folks...
What's wrong with a socialist country?
At least we have *more* than two mainstream federal political parties. Last time I checked, we had five. Sounds like a healthy democracy to me, although the federal NDP's "mainstream" status could be debated.

(c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and

Pretty clear if you ask me.
Oh, and let's not forget this decision.
Gee whiz, it sure is too bad that us dumb Canadians are pawns of our evil socialist government. I always had a soft spot for Sapphires, actually. Dilithium and Blessed Luckstones too.
>-glynis, aka LWolenczak's girlfriend. You know, >the one who sucks. ;D
Is that as in the Lucas with the dolphin? I loved that show. Well, just the first season, actually, but hey...

Damn. For a second I thought I had found someone else who uses the Perl shell, currently at 0.0.8.

But gaining a lot of stability.
Wouldn't that be a license to kill?

Nah, just the result of bad puppet work. I couldn't get enough of the show as a kid, though. Oh well.
THUNDERBIRDS... ARE... GO!
