I was thinking that it is important that SCO keep making statements such as these for two reasons:
1. Keeps the price of their stock up.
2. They can be cleared of pump and dump in case they lose. "Your honor, we did not make 'false and misleading statements to the marketplace.' No, your honor we really believe what we are saying. Here's more proof: On these days (shows list of public statements) we said it for the whole world to see/hear!" This way Darl won't be competing with the goatse guy in jail.
I would think, however, that someone at IBM must feel a little comfortable thinking that the chance of them getting back-stabbed by the Linux community is near zero.
Why not??? From my experience using Linux I would say that is totally the opposite. Linux programmers seem to hold themselves to the highest standards of programming and nothing but the best and most secure is good enough (isn't that where Linux is going?), Microsoft or not.
1. Do illegal things against the competition. 2. Bring in extra Revenue. 3. Get caught and/or sued. 4. Pay Fine. (Fine will be much less than extra Revenue.) 5. Profit!!!
"We" don't make the laws. "They" do with the assumption we actually want them to. Do they ask us? no.
While I think that may be true sometimes, I think many times they make laws because
1. Corporations asked ($$) for them.
2. It makes them sound like they're actually doing something for us so they can get re-elected.

Hey, I was thinking that perhaps an AOL machine would succeed. What is an AOL Machine? Well such machine would be sold at K-Mart, er Walmart, with a full-blown AOL browser (based on Mozilla?) and OpenOffice in a (KDE?) Linux-based system. The intended customer is Gramma or Grampa who all they really want the computer for is to type letters and do "AOL" type stuff. AOL could also sell services like tax preparation services via their AOL interface. Not EVERYONE knows what Windows is, anyway. This would be based on a current package management system and kept up to date by AOL. Maybe they could send you quarterly upgrade CD's.
Yes, absolutely! I have scoliosis and in two places my spine curves sideways at 26 degrees. I meditate at least one hour a day and if I did not do stomach crunches (I can't do sit-ups) the pain from sitting up for so long would be absolutely unbearable.
About five minutes a day of stomach crunches makes my back be a non-factor in any activity save heavy weight lifting. And to think my doc wanted to give me spinal fusion!
Dude, that is so fucking funny. Sounds like you're saying. "that is NOT a cube; THAT is a physical object with six squares of the same size for physical boundaries.

http://www.autodynamics.org claims that "... Carezani has described an experiment to prove
Autodynamics correct and Special Relativity wrong." Ok, this isn't about E=MC^2, but I tried to submit this as a Slashdot question and I guess someone didn't like the idea. Anyway, I consider myself only of slightly above average intelligence, Master of Slack, and definitely of lower intelligence than the collective brain power of Slashdot. Anyway, please will someone read it and tell us where/why Autodynamics is incorrect? or not.

... just so you can give a tax cut to the rich who werent even asking for it.
You don't think he got a few personal phone calls asking him to do so in return for donations to the Republican Party!

People who donate to political parties are the closest that a regular citizen can get to being the government. The rest of us just have our one vote.
People? Don't you mean corporations?

Next Slashdot Poll:
How many times does your point and click browser crash a day? An hour??
RedHat, SuSE, Corel, Caldera... help build a better browser!
If your NS crashes as often as my NS, these students might prefer Windows/IE.
