I had a long detailed response to your little diatribe. I can't believe you praised Panama City for its being fun and then derided Orlando for having tourists.

I then realized that you probably went to FSU and have an excuse for your ignorance.

Love it or leave you little troll :)

Hey, last time I went into a bar wearing a linux shirt, thousands upon thousands of women came up to me and asked me if I wanted a dance. I had to fend them all off with a stick.

Shortly after that, I took the dollar bill off my nose and left "The Jiggly Room" only to go to a TGI Fridays. The woman there didn't seem to appreciate my penguin laden attire.

The moral is, I think it all depends on where you hang your hat.

  5. Good Point, bad example. on The Folly of Faking Fan Sites · · Score: 4
The Blair Witch Project was produced by a bunch of film students at the University of Central Florida on virtually no budget. The film has been showing around for a couple of months. For example, the film was shown at the Florida Film Festival a few months ago (Where I was fortunate enough to see it.) And it lives almost up to expectations. The official release of this film was today. What you people have to realize is that this film was an art movie and the kids who made it never really expected it go this far.

I know several people who have made websites about this movie. They are all UCF students who have also seen the movie. They are not iflm studios or the makers of the film. If you want an example of 'astroturfing' look at DIVX, Microsoft, or Disney.

I believe in this case, the author of the article at Salon was waiting to use this particular topic in context. Unfortunately, he picked a very, very poor example.

Eheheh, Long time reader, very rare poster.

I would like to see the final results of the paper. I am not sure how you feel about throwing your writing to the sharks that occupy this arena.
But I am curious about which opinion you will take and your personal stand on this issue especially with regard to the reaction of your profs. I got sent to the resident HS psych when I turned in a paper on the death penalty. (For those who are curious, read HL Mencken's view on it, his view was my senior paper thesis.)

I think the slashdot.org readership deserve to view it.

    Thanks,
