  1. Stop outsourcing sensitive functions. on Breach at DocuSign Led To Targeted Email Malware Campaign (krebsonsecurity.com) · · Score: 1

I hate when companies make me share sensitive info with Docushare. We need to as an industry stop outsourcing functions that require users to share personal info. It just shifts accountability to third parties that nobody in their right mind should ever trust. It shifts accountability outside the organization to a place where there is no accountability.

  2. Re:equal opportunity homelessness on Amazon To Build Homeless Shelter In Its New Seattle Headquarters (cnn.com) · · Score: 1

Able bodied men will get their own concentration camp...er homeless shelter at a later date. Funny how even when they try to do something charitable, the tech world hates Amazon so much even that gets nothing, but unfettered wrath. Once all your good will is burned nothing can restore it. Nobody will say anything nice about Bezos until someone writes his obituary. Get your drone off my lawn.

  4. Re:What's changed? on Is Social Media Making Us Hate Each Other? (bostonglobe.com) · · Score: 1

I'm sure we don't hate each other more, being behind a keyboard just gives us more freedom to voice our collective hate with less real world consequence. Discourse is healthy, we don't get free discourse without hate being vocalized as well. The only thing that seems to increase my hate is increased life experience.

  5. Re:Just like businesses... on Steve Ballmer's New Project: Find Out How the Government Spends Your Money (theverge.com) · · Score: 1

Expecting the government to proactively tell us where they are wasting money is like expecting your children to not only eat, but grow their own vegetables, once in a while it will work, but not in the worst cases. Bravo to Steve Ballmer, get this right and I'll almost forgive what you did to MSFT (Windows 8, 10, Windows Phone, Metro, subscription based Office, same coming to Windows under your replacement's watch)

  6. Just make Google respond with the nutrition facts on Burger King Runs Ad Triggering Google Home Devices; Google Shuts It Down (theverge.com) · · Score: 1

It would have been more fun if they made the system respond with the nutrition facts instead of the Wikipedia info. That would teach them a lesson about taking that gamble in the future.

  7. Let me guess, this system will help everyone except white males who don't have advanced degrees. Please Google, don't willingly hand the keys to the kingdom to the SJWs trying to turn America into a sea of socialist mediocrity.

  8. Case in point if we forbid the purchase and sale of a stock held for less than ten minutes then most of the HFT issues would flat out disappear. I fail to see the legitimate use case where a trader should need a stock for less than ten minutes. Anything shorter is just manipulation. Ten minutes is a minor penalty to hold a stock if you just make a trading error.
