Your points are valid. I think coal is a messy industry, but there is so much of it as a natural resource. I wonder if the production and mining costs will outweigh the "use" and "need." We have to create a need for any of this to work. Now we have pressed particle wood pellets, who needs coal? Perhaps someone needs to invent gas made from coal, that would solve all the issues !
Totally interesting and I thank you. I'm off to read it now. Wouldn't this be a blow to what we assumed we knew, and what really happened. I often wondered if people weren't here before Columbus. Technically if per say, the earth was all connected at one time, and the cities of Amatrice and Rome in Italy have dated back to ancient times, why wouldn't the USA have ancient people as well? I'm sure we did. Just undocumented. Wow.
Yes, it's true. Just mention politics on my Facebook page and 1500+ friends of mine are in a hostile fight. Politics has recently divided people at the dinner table. Fathers and daughters have gotten in heated arguments. It's a shame that social media has really made us live in a non-private environment. I wondered why all of a sudden I'm getting junk mail related to my posts. I think they are selling my trends. George Orwell is here, it's called the USA.
I have to agree, because how much do they gross a year? I do want to say I am shocked that their CEO can't handle things more "caring" and "concerned" to the public over recent issues. The public wants you to show a little bit of compassion, but I guess he doesn't care. Ubers have nearly put taxi's out of business in cities like Baltimore!
I recently did intense research on this entire issue, and I'm speaking for Italy and I disagree. One activist in Italy Mauro Merlino has used ONLY social media to promote a movement to protest the lack of recovery efforts in Central Italy due to earthquakes. I have followed his movement and seen that journalists have eaten the story up, youtube videos have received 10000+ videos, and he's been on a slew of streaming TV . Ironically, the Facebook has not promoted him, so perhaps this is not widely accepted in Italy? In my opinion this movement in social media on Italian blogs and news streaming channels has proven very effective. Recently American's MSM picked up the story and ran with it. Now he's got an Instagram fan site and can't even speak English. So speaking for Italy, blogs, journals, and streaming TV are where it's at. Facebook and Twitter do not seem to be used often.
If everyone recycled everything in the USA, (or any country for that matter) they could be totally self sustainable (granted the oil situation). This could possibly cripple some overseas factories and trade industries. Dollar stores in USA would go defunct yet the economy boom by create more "recycling / reuse" factories in the USA. Will it happen, nope. The cost of recycling goods outweighs the profit margin. The world is unfortunately moved by money.
Then you will have a list of the rich and famous buying them, no matter what the tag, doing something "green" and good for the environment will justify the price. Why didn't I think of this?
Netflix is more user friendly now with Comcast cable in the USA. Are they owned by one another? Ironically the search function is integrated with Comcast. So you search for a favorite movie to watch, and you think you are searching Comcast, but the "Ways to Watch" comes up telling you to watch on Netflix. At which time you must order the subscription. I am tending to think they are integrated and taking over the world. Maybe I am just this old, but television used to be free.
