I hate those kinds of sites. The only place a full address is actually need is when switching from SSL to non-SSL and places where a Location header is sent. It is trivial to use $ENV{'SERVER_NAME'} or something else there instead of hard coding the server name.
Its common to use javascript to detect if cookies are enabled. If you disable the ability of javascript to do cookies it can falsely report that they are disabled. Luckily most sites don't really use javascript to read/write cookies, they only use it to check if they are enabled.
The email he has is from Legalservicesdp@aol.com. A few (minor) points: 1. The person is obviously prentending to be from AOL (the correct email is AOLLegal) 2. He doesn't include his name or company 3. Bad grammer, lawyers take this VERY seriously! 4. The fact that is was sent from an AOL account
My $0.02: This one is safe to ignore until you get real legal documents.
I tend to use the prebuild debian kernel images too. I do occasionally compile a 2.5 kernel but it really isn't worth it that much. When the 2.4.20 kernel enters SID my computer will automatically download and install it during an update.
I have a self compiled 2.5.44 kernel, but... you're right it really isn't worth the time it takes to configure, compile, and possibly try again.
We were doing a "video scavenger hunt" and one of the things to find was a glass elevator. The closest one is in our mall so we went in and video taped it. Needless to say we had a nice run in with your friendly neighborhood rent-a-cops.
Yeah that software in question works really well. I use it with both Ogle and VideoLAN (I haven't decided which is better yet) and the only issue I had was with a damaged disk. I also have css-auth and it truely is proof of concept code, nothing more.
Who cares if its 'legal' or not. If you aren't using to steal movies (or view stolen ones) then go do it anyway. It's called civil disobediance, it can be a very powerful force.
I think that the main point of the release is not necessarily to condemn the W3C's policy in any way, but to remind people that it isn't completely GPL compatible. The GPL is their license and it is important for them to take positions like this and clarify things how this works with the GPL.
I'm not a Verizon user, but what if I call a Verizon user or they call me? Both of my parents use Verizon cell phones (i refuse to get a cell phone) and they do call me from them.
There are some programs out that do LAN searches and such. I know this because every once and awhile I get queries on my NetBios ports and I traced them back to someone with a LAN search engine website up on their resnet connection here.

Yeah, apparently their scoop server is down.
Will another time be soon. Got a website you can post those papers on?
http://www.opennic.unrated.net/
I should probably start pointing my OpenNIC domain at my server again.
my TV is older than me, and my VCR isn't that much younger than me. They both work great (better than the newer TV/VCR my parents got a few years ago)
Yep its great fun browsing that using Samba.
The Windows Network and FTP servers running inside our college network are the best sources for stuff.
And if they had actually counted on people USING the bandwidth they were given they wouldn't have to impose transfer limits and such now.

And when people just re-configure P2P apps to run on port 80?
The problem is that a mall is private property, not public property.

Not anymore, I defer you to UN "Peacekeeping Resolutions" and the War Powers Act.

Thats what I say! I think last time I pointed that out I got modded down to troll.

Yeah they have rights as a corporation, but what about my rights as a US citizen?
Can your email box hand 2 ISOs?
Its two ISOs, not real CDs.
:)
I love the id10ts who approved me for the public beta
Now what am I gonna do with my Beta copy?
Cool, I should go boot over to FreeBSD and try them, I got my 8200 with the geforce4 go.
