hello this is gladys my husband norman was in world war 2 he fought in iwo jima one time his ship almost hit a coral reef but thank god it didn't. lois was engaged but her intended died on the bataan death march i think it's wonderful that they are finally giving the veterans a memorial i always thought it was unfair that the ones that fought in vietnam got one and my generation fought to save the world and won and we didn't get anything. i don't usually watch dan rather but i think he was right when he called the people who fought in world war 2 the greatest generation. but he still isn't as good as walter cronkite was i wish he would do the news again.
hello this is gladys malone it is very hard for me to find things that interest me on this slashdot but this is what sean who works at the retirement center puts me on everyday. on movie night a while ago we watched this movie and i didn't understand it at all first he was working in an office and then something comes out of his stomach and then all of a sudden he takes a pill and he is on a space ship and is doing kung fu with a black man i thought that the japanese do kung fu. but then he can make things appear and do flips in the air because he is the one. i dont know what that means being the one but i guess it was important. maybe someone here can help me understand it better i don't know why sean the director of entertainment always gets these movies for us he must think that just because he likes them that we'd like them too. i really just wish he'd get us an old humphrey bogart film because most of us are very set in our ways and don't understand these newfangled music especially when the music is so loud that you can't even hear the words anymore. and the things they call music it just sounds like noise to me.
when i was younger i used to go to all the jazz clubs and the older people would always say 'that's not music' but this is different this isn't music at all it sounds like the people who are digging up the road in front of my house, especially with all the language because they use terrible language in that music too. sean says i have to go now because i have to go see doctor johnson goodbye your friend gladys malone
every july 4 at the retirement center they play the movie independence day some of the people don't like it but i thought it was good but even though it wasn't very patriotic. people always tell me to watch out and not catch computer viruses and i always think about that movie because they used a good virus if it was good enough for them i guess it would work. i really liked the black man in that movie normally they scare me but he seemed like a nice young man even though his wife was a tramp. lois' husband ran off with a woman like that but that was years ago and she died of heart failure a couple years back

i like agatha christie so this is a good idea because younger people can read her my favorite was dumb witness about an rich old lady who get murdered and only her dog sees it. they should put that one on the computers too.
i have never read a book on a computer's tv screen before it hurts my back if i am here too long and i don't even know where to go to find them maybe sean could help me but sometimes he's so finicky about helping me find things new like this nice place to talk to people. last week he put me on something called a ford bronco discussion forum but i didn't understand what they were talking about there. i don't understand these mechanics that's why i always use the full service pump because it's hard to fool with those things and they are to confusing now that they don't use the dial anymore. oh fletcher is back i guess he didn't forget goodbye your friend gladys malone

last week i went to the rite-aid to get my lanoxin prescription and a young man was in front of me in line he had earrings and long hair and it looked like he missed a spot when he was shaving because there was a little bit of hair under his lip. he didn't even offer to let me go ahead in line even though i had heart medication and he was just getting cigarettes. norman used to smoke but he died of respiratory failure in his car and i didn't know where he was because he would always tell me, gladys i am the man of this house and i don't need to tell you where i'm going. so i waited at home for him and he never came and he never came and finally i called the police and they found him out by the lake. he used to like feeding the birds there.
