Why should you consult different places to search for different kinds of data? What google tries to achieve is to be your Unique Source of Answers, your first and last stop.
One single unified interface to find anything you might think of. This is the ultimate goal of Google.
It's good for the user because it's easy to learn.
It's even better for Google, who litteraly ends up re-branding the whole world.
If you only slightly modify what you consider Google's core business, it can read "Searching the available data for the best possible results".
If some book can really answer my question, i'll be more than happy to hear about it. Combine with Amazon's famed OneClick order, and I'm sure I'll spend more money on books than I ever have. And the best part is that I'll *thanks* Google for it.
Actually, the plan is to include RFID chips in the road itself, and in the tire. Once mass-produced to the level required, such devices are extremely inexpensive.
The obvious short term advantage of reading the signs is that they are already deployed all around.

A similar principle is used by Focus fusion reactors. It is basically a reverse particle accelerator.
"A focus fusion reactor would produce electricity very differently. The energy from fusion reactions is released mainly in the form of a high energy pulsed beam of helium nuclei. Since the nuclei are electrically charged, this beam is already an electric current. All that is needed is to capture this electric energy into an electric circuit. This can be done by allowing the pulsed beam to generate electric currents in a series of coils as it passes through them. This is much the same way that a transformer works, stepping electric power down from the high voltage of a transmission line to the low voltage used in homes and factories. It is also like a particle accelerator run in reverse. Such an electrical transformation can be highly efficient, probably around 70%."
Is this comment general for every computer players, or just Igowin?
I would obviously prefer to play against a human who can explain things to me as we go, but unfortunately it's not easy to find players here. And Internet games usually don't end up very "interactive".
Anyone interested in learning the basics, i suggest trying Igowin, the 9x9 version is free (as in beer), comes with a very good tutorial, and you can buy their full 19x19 product if you like it.
I have over 1400 games played with this one and still haven't reached 50% skill level of the program.
Maybe 19x19 games are hard for computers, but at 9x9 it will kick your ass.:)
eDonkey is definitely not about speed. Bittorrent usually end up with much faster downloads. I consider it as my "archive" ressource. It's way easier to find old and obscure files on that than on bittorrent sites.
One feature I particularly like about eMule is that it supports both server-based operation and decentralized Kademlia (a kind of distributed hash table) searching. The two systems work together nicely and usually end up with more sources than one one of them.

Next time you're in town, try the Banquise, the best poutine around. :)

It would far easier for them to take Firefox as a base and customize it for their services.
Best of both worlds. I look forward to it!
1. Once all "simplest" explanations are exposed by everyone interested, devise experiments to disprove each one of them.
2. Remove proved-false explanations OR return to stage 1 to explain the failures.
3. Take the remaining hypotesis and accept it as THE BEST CURRENT EXPLANATION.
This is called the scientific process. It has nothing to do with YOU or ME. If done properly, it should end up with CONCENSUS.
Which is the closest to truth you'll ever get.
And before you bring up any "but", take your conter-proposals and return to 1.
You cannot enforce anything you receive from the wires. :)

This one is smaller, and supports both a USB and a Bluetooth connection (so you can use it with your cell phone).
