  1. Workstation configuration on Balancing Use Between the Keyboard and Mouse? · · Score: 2, Interesting

Part of the problem is the "standard" configuration of most workstations. Many people use a mouse that requires you to move one of your hands back and forth between it and the keyboard. One of the first lessons I learned when I got my first laptop was how much more efficient you can be with a touchpad just below the space bar. With this configuration the "mouse" is practically part of the keyboard. I've taken to purchasing desktop keyboards with this same configuration.

  3. Just what they want? on 71% of Spam Servers are Located in China · · Score: 2, Insightful

I hear complaints all the time about how much censorship of the Internet is done by the Chinese government, then what do we do? We add all of China to our RBLs to block the spam, and end up blocking what legitimate e-mail does get through. Sounds like we are doing just what the Chinese government wants us to.

  4. Direcway on Temporary Wireless Service For An Outdoors Event? · · Score: 4, Informative

Grab a DW6000 from Direcway. Bi-directional satellite (no analog or isdn uplink needed) and provides you and ethernet port. Put either a router on preferably a transparent proxy server on it and connect up your access points on the other side. Make sure you have an UPS for each access point in addition to the one for your server/satellite.

  8. Intelligent virus scanners / SPF on Why Do Email Admins Make Viruses Worse? · · Score: 1

How hard would it be to create a virus scanner for email servers that can keep track of if a virus forges the from and if so not send the bounce message?

Whis whole issue is another reason to implement Sender Permitted From (SPF). If everyone ran SPF this type of virus would not be able to spread.
