and a censoring of a religious minority in the US (Christianity) is icing on the dirty cake
umm... pass me what you're smokin' dude.... there's a HELLUVA lot more Christians that there are Pagans... I know, I get told how I'm goin' to hell almost every day
mod this guy up... this is EXACTLY the problem with society today... too many damn "parents" (and yes, I mean that as a quote) want everyone else to raise their kids but them... it's utterly disgusting.
as long as they manage to make the "Peerless" "click-of-death-less" we should be ok... personally, I wouldn't trust my backup data to anything Iomega makes.
The bottom line is, with all the FUD in the media nowadays (CR, Sircam, etc..), anyone who finds a flaw in some type of system is gonna get shafted, period.
The only thing I see as a possible remedy to this is for people to actually start using all those anonymous remailers that are floatin' around, otherwise, be prepared to get bent over for trying to be helpful. I can relate to this personally, the only good thing about it is that I only got fired, not arrested. But how much more BS are people going to take before they start to take a stand against this kind of crap?
that's actually a pretty good suggestion for localized uses... almost akin to trunking radio (Motorola, GE/Erricson, etc...) , but the one question I have for you is, what kind of hardware are we talking about? I know that the Visor has a 802.11b module for the springboard slot, and a mic, no speaker tho.... anyone have a suggestion on hardware?
umm... take a look at http://www.fija.org . A jury in the US can base their decision on the fairness of the law, not just the "facts" of the case.... i.e. they can acquit a person because they believe the law itself is wrong. This is what we need for the DMCA, congress won't change it, they're too damn scared of technology.
well... time for a first *real* post =). This is a good idea, if we could engineer a way to verify the "reply-to" addresses. Anyone care to take up the challenge? I'm most definetly not a Perl programmer by any means, but it doesn't seem that the concept of skimming through the e-mail, and "spamming" the addresses listed within (one of them HAS to be the real address), would be too difficult... anyone game?

kinda small town here in Central IL, and it's already $3.60/gallon.
frankly, I WILL make the anti-capitalist statement (go ahead and mod me down if ya want, I don't give a rats-ass today)

did anyone *really* think that anything from M$ would ever be "secure"?
I mean, c'mon.... who the hell do they think they're fooling?
amazing.... 1:45 AM and I *still* have people beating me to FP ;)
damn.... FP and everything :)
ok... on to the real meat of the comment
this is something that has been thought out to death... frankly, it's a pretty good idea whos time is WAY overdue...
with everyone pissin' and moanin' about "the last mile", doesn't this pretty much solve that?
who knows of a house/apartment that DOESN'T have power?

ok... so how long is Al Gore gonna get sentenced to? we all know he invented the 'net, so he's just as liable as the rest, eh? =)

I do believe that's the biggest post, outside of John Katz's, that I have ever seen.
