Seems to be a kinda wierd distrobution to me. Probably 80% of the people I know who have internet access listen to mp3s. 25% just seems like a rediculously low amount.
what about XP? whos gonna run it? I have the gold release version (work for a university) and its horribly kludgy....gotta have to go with one of the *nixs for the new 64 bit intel chips...
I dont think this is what's causing kids to kill each other... but soldiers definately are getting more vicious. I can see the results of playing hours of counterstrike.....sometimes I walk into a room and I get a though like...."if I was trying to hold this room..I would do it from over there" and that really scares me....giant peer-to-peer military simulations kinda scare me in genreral
yeah, this is a dirty tactic to confuse people, but dont blame AMD. Intel was doing it a while ago, with RDRAM. you got your PC800 rdram...that misteriously ran at 400mhz....how is that pc800?
anyways...it seems to be a common tactic in the industry, it just makes headlines because AMD doesnt have the "WHAT WE DO IS RIGHT BECAUSE WE ARE INTEL" advantage.
I definately also own a bunch of loki games, and believe that it is important that loki survives. It is not important because of how good theire ports are, or anything like that. It is important because if they survive, they are showing that make software for an alternative OS is possible. Unfortunately, if they fail, it may keep a lot of companies from ever trying to port their games.
This situation is much more important than it seems, and is a major factor in the acceptance of linux as a Desktop OS. Please....someone invest in Loki, so I have the freedom to choose what OS I play my games in.
Ive lately been hearing a lot about the industry trying to put java apps on PDAs and in cell phones, and all these little "internet apliances". This doesnt seem to make much sence to me.
Could anyone tell me why they do this? Wouldnt it be easier to use machine level code, and then not have the system overhead, so you can use a less powerfull processor?
Java is fun and all, and usefull in web aps, but face it, you cant write an FPS in java, and you cant really write a java kernel. The language is useful in certain things, but if you need performance, you have to go more low level, like C/C++ or assembly.
The rest of the suggestions are pretty good, but personally, I find the best way to make my cubicle seem as spacious as possible is to stay out of it. I shedule frequent "meetings" with the cute intern down the hall (i'm 20...give me a break.)
Anyways, take an occasional walk, and learn to use your verticle space. Put stuff on top of other stuff. Put the computer under the desk. If its on top of the desk, put stuff on top of it.
While plants are great for the office, I tend to find that reptiles work better, I have a gecko in my office....wierds out the sysadmins, but I'm security, so they really dont bother me.
And finally, the best way to add space to your cube: Get rid of all the shit you dont need, like that 4 foot tall Tux doll...I love linux...but the doll takes up too much space. If you dont use it almost every day, get it out of the cube.

Cute was such a term as to be used in the sence of puppy dogs, and linux penguins, things of the fraternal nature are out of the question.

I just dont understand maybe?
