i havnt used antivirus software in over 7 years now, simple common sense with emails and completely disabling every "feature" in IE that i can, then proceeding to not use it at all for browsing has resulted in a virus free computer.

i see antivirus as the computer equivalent of over the top health and safety policies. They make stupid lazy people feel safe but dont actualy achieve much.

atm kids in the uk are raised being told knives are for crime / stabbing ppl so your not allowed to have one.

so of course when they get one what do they think its for?

most ppl raised with knifes being an every day tool treat them with respect as they have cut themselves in the past and have an understanding and respect of the harm they can do.

given the history of mistakes in evidence / accusations has anyone considered making a spoofing app that just sits there pretending to transfer copyrighted works ?

low traffic use but reporting back to the trackers/peers that it has downloaded a lot.
even better if it can attempt to spoof IP's as well, sometimes effectively, sometimes not. just to make sure there is a very real an provable occurance of this happening so it can be used in defence. always the highest profile movies / music at the time to get the attention of mediasentry.

anyone running it would have an element of confusion to use in their defence if accused, and also anyone else being accused will be able to point at it saying well how can you prove it wasnt someone else running this that spoofed my IP?

as far as im aware the halflife of milecules/atoms (sorry im drunk and cant remember _exactly_ what) was pretty much an undisputed scientific theory (theory meaning proven method etc, not and "idea" for all those creationists/IDists out there)

    nothing terribly soft about it.

  10. actualy i dont seem to get cydoor when i install on eXeem Lite Public Beta Released · · Score: 1

its most probably due to the fact that since i use firefox i locked down IE (disabled absolutely every feature etc i could) for both internet and local zones, then put the only sites i had to go to in IE as trusted sites.

as a result it seems cydoor is no longer able to sneak itself onto my system hiding with other programmes installers, which is a pleasant side effect indeed.

no reason to pirate this game?

lets ee, having payed for a copy of hl and used it for severaly years, upon the release of steam suddenly i couldnt use it. i contacted the people who i payed for teh game via thier support email address, no response. for 3 months i could not use a porduct i had payed for.

eventualy i was resourcefull enough to send a private message to a vavle staff member via their forum system, and 2 weeks after that he responded letting me know it was fixed.

i recieved no compensation for having access to a product i have purchased stolen from me.

so that a reason to "pirate" the game right there, they took 3.5 months of use for a game i had payed them for.

i feel perfectly entitled to 3.5 months of a game of thiers that i havnt payed for in return.
