CODEC = enCOde / DECode, and is therefore NOT applicable to this test of AAC ENCoders - the decoder is common (as is theoretically the case with ANY decode-only standard).
fair enough - we had 3 of these machines that were fitted with the infamous Fujitsu ATA HD - they ALL died, IBM would not replace them! Theoretically quite a nice machine, real world performance sucked big time - an 800 Mhz G3 iMac was more sprightly in real life...
Jesus wept, man - why were you wasting ANYONE'S time with a call out for a problem of such incredible triviality? Who fucking cares if the CD was permanently in it's down position?
Me too, though you can't deny that Apple is just as capable of 'cutting off the air supply' as MS is to their respective developer communities. iTunes turned the market for MacOS mp3 players into a wasteland - quite how Panic keep Audion going is beyond me - but I still use it for encoding sometimes because it's so fucking GOOD.
I was under the impression that iPods had 32MB of cache RAM as well. Please don't confuse HD and RAM - Palms don't have HDs (yet) though this one will take a 1GB Memory Stick if you want it to.
You're absolutely right. It IS Mac users - that strange section of the computer using world where people pay for stuff that they value (often too much), like/love their computers and actually believe that a product that cost hundreds/thousands of dollars should be well designed from both an industrial and usability point of view.
They're a weird bunch, but if you can make a product or service that they like, you can make a PROFIT from it! And they'll love you for it, too!
That's pathetic.
How is mp3 more versatile when AAC can handle surround but mp3 can't?
I'm no great fan of psychoacoustically compressed audio, but I LOVE ID3 tags and other meta fun.
Can we get this straight?

Can you equally explain away the random capitalisation of "designers"?
Thought not.
You didn't misinterpret it, because that's exactly what was written. Basic English skills are in short supply 'round here.

Memory Stick Pro - the UX50 is pictured with one on the Japanese website.
Stick that up your arse.

Glad to see that the US Army is still the natural home of the kind of idiot who can't tell the difference between a dime and a penny.

You have very strange taste in women. I find that girl hugely annoying AND deeply unattractive - and I'm not as picky as most.
or use laptops with magnesium cases like about - ooh half of them do.
whose mom?
she never gave ME a ride...
Here's a little revision for us capitalists:-
1) Listen to customers.
2) Sell them what they want.
3) Profit.
See the difference?
are your ReplayTV files DVD compliant MPEG2s?

Not particularly funny, especially if you've ever looked at the types of and amount of distortion that vinyl LP reproduction introduces to the audio.
It's really very nasty.
I always like to go the extra mile, I think my customers deserve it.
Nothing much wrong with being a fanboy, but try and maintain some perspective.

Holy crap!
at the risk of being labeled pedantic, the iTMS does not sell mp3 files...
sorry
I hearby nominate you for the "Nitpicker of the Year" award.
Just don't let it go to your head.
Tezro has 155Bhp at 6200rpm whereas the Powermac G5 produces 192Bhp at 8500rpm. Don't know about curve shape or torque though...
