Does this mean companies that do pay SCO for code they (SCO) has yet to identify can sue SCO to recover licensing fees should SCO's claims turn out be nothing more than figment of McBrides already screwed up imagination?
Another ruling from technologically inept court. Maybe they should do us a favor and prevent judges who are clueless when it comes to tech from ruling on such cases.
There is not such thing as unbreakable encryption, unfeasible yes, but not unbreakable. You can have a trillion bit key but even that won't help a flawed algorithm.
Of those 2 million people who tried to crack the code how many were trained cryptoanalyst?
The MPAA and their leaders are as uninformed now as they where when the VCR came out. Instead of embracing new technology, they try to cripple or stop it. Ironicly now VHS and DVD movies make up the bulk of their income.
So according to this judge if I publish software on the internet I have to make sure it up holds the laws of other countries as well as my own? In any case I'd like to see them enforce the ruling.
I seem to remember an Austrailian court ruling that publishers were responsible for making sure their content was legal everywere it was published and the a U.S court making ruling to the contray..now this ruling runs contray to the first U.S ruling..Or maybe I just have this all mixed up.
"Thirdly. What's the best way to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases? Condoms or Abstinence? Maybe there was a leftist bias on those pages to begin with and they really do refect more acurately scientific evidence?"
Not everyone is going to practice abstence. Obviously people like to engage in sex for other reasons than reproduction, otherwise there wouldn't be a need for all the little operations and devices to prevent pregnancy (and in the case of some the devices STD's). Teen's are curious and they have hormons, it only follows that some are going to indulge them selves.
What this article calls conservative science is little more than an attempt to force "Christian/family values" on everyone. Contrary to what some conservatives would have you believe sex isn't dirty its part of life, what reasons people have for engaging in it are there own and shouldn't be subjected to government approval. As for condoms increasing sexual activity, I doubt most people are that weak willed and if they are we have bigger problems to deal with, just because you have a condom doesn't mean your going to have sex more frequently. It's nieve to assume everyone is going to practice abstence. Truth be told teens in Europe are given more information and more sexual freedom and yet American teens have much higher rates of STD's etc. You can't legislate morality..Especially in a free society.
ooh big loss...NOT! All your missing is the chance to over pay for low quality video that takes and hour or two to download. Rent the DVD it's cheaper, better quality, and you don't have to wait for the damn download.
The stuff they show on Cartoon Network is hardly the best anime. If you want bland crap devoid of creativity watch sealab, home movies, or one of those other sunday adult swim shows.
To be honest the only shows I watch on Cartoon Network are Cowboy Bebop and Dragon Ball if I am bored..Otherwise I'll buy the stuff I like on DVD. As for the there sunday night schedule..I wish they'd get ride of it.
How lame is your buisness if you depend on google for hits. Google can choose the way they want to rank pages, hell they could just delete searchking.com all together. Does anyone else think this is completely stupid. He's suing Google (a search engine) because his searchking.com (also a search engine) isn't ranked higher. Beside I though Google's ranking system was based on how many sites link to you and what those sites rank is(which is dependant on how many people link to them etc, don't you just love recursion). Its obvious that not alot of people link to him (well not people with a high rank anyway).
My experiance has been the story seems to loss something in the process. No doubt some big shot from Warner Bros will get a hold of the story and change it for the worse.

That's like letting the wolf watch the flock.
There sending us back to the days of Ma Bell and the AT&T monopoly, when you couldn't touch the phone line without permission.

I am not a fan of Sun, but I do like the fact they released Solaris for Intel machines and made it free for none commerical use.

He probably didn't expect his URL up on Slashdot either.
I just download Mandrake 9.0, I guess I should have waited.

Hell, I already do. I haven't bought a CD in 2 years, and I haven't bought any U.S movies in close to 7 years.
I also don't buy those blank CD-R's that are "for music".

Every time they try to do anime to live action the result normally sucks. Now they want to ruin Akira.
