    *shrug* Brando sells sim cutters that do exactly this, and regular-sim sized dual-micro-sim holders that alternate the active sim on every reboot - that is, regular phone to dual-sim phone converters.

    I know, and I agree. Still, that's the word they use :-)

    I'm not aware of any other word being used, but then again I don't know any french oldtimers or specialists that might have worked with non-8-bit bytes.

    Well, the word apparently is also valid english, and wikipedia puts the earliest known occurrence in 1974, in RFC 635.

    I don't know what you'd consider "recent", but I've known about "octet" for 10+ years. The french have the annoying habit of translating words, which makes it exceedingly annoying to read their code and comments.

    I had a cow when I first saw variables named $clef, $valeur and $chaine.

    From TFA and TFS: The questions were, first, did the defendant know he caused a disruption or a denial of computer service. It was rather easy for us to answer, "Yes there was a denial of service."

    So, the question is "Did he know" and the answer is "Yes, there was". Did someone forget to bring their grasp of the language ?

    Also, the second question was wether or not he denied access to an authorized user, but "authorized user" was never defined to the jury. How the hell can you justify deciding wether or not something fits a definition if that definition is not given to you ?

    More importantly, they have small country's population's worth of lawyers, and the warchests to buy their loyalty for years. I'm afraid that this suit will have to be won on the attention that can be generated by mass participation of consumers.

    I've just read the WP article he linked to, and as far as I understand it, the book isn't against vatican doctrine. It contains similar, but more complete stories, including geographical, geological, historical and medical details that she couldn't possibly have known; and additionally it also offers conciliatory explanations for a number of inconsistencies between the various gospels.

    There's a lot of support in the church for her writings, up to the high levels, and the basis for refusal seems to be the general reluctance to admit new data into the canon, as well as reluctance to acknowledge visions of Jesus and Mary.

    I've gotten pretty interested in the text after reading the article, even though I'm by no means religious. I may buy and read it.
