Kurt Cobain said "Sure, but only if there is a small stick over the baby's penis that says 'If this offends you, you are a closet pedophile.'" The cover remained intact.

If you want to know if SLS is used in shampoos, just go to your grocery store and look at the labels, or just do a 3 second google search.

A closer example would probably be John Carmack. He has most the traits you mentioned, but on top of that you don't ever really see him as politically active and instead pours a good deal of the money he makes straight back into developing new technologies.
It's not a hard stretch to say that Romero is like Peter Keating either.
But in any case, I'm sure most people would be offended to be compared to any of Rand's one dimensional characters.
Ask 100 people to list 10 respectable professions and 'Teacher' and 'Police Officer' will be on everyones list.
How many motorcade parades do you see for construction workers that get hit by cars while building the roads you drive on?
