  1. Cap better be pretty high... on Time Warner to Charge Extra for Over-Quota Bandwidth · · Score: 0

Considering I am currently rate capped @ 2M down and 256k up
My max DL speed is 256KB/s.
    That's 15MB/min 900MB/Hr 21.6GB/Day ~650GB/Month Maximum.
    I currently pay $44.95/Month

What percentage of the service will I be able to use?
    20% -- 130GB
    10% -- 65GB
    5% -- 32.5GB
    1% -- 6.5GB
    1/2%-- 3.25GB
    1/4%-- 1.625GB

Anything less than 5% and I'll laugh at them openly while I cancel my account

Is overselling by 20X enough on your highest users..
Considering all the people who only use it for "Fast E-mail" who are oversold by about 1000X

Will they have Peak Bandwidth Times?
I don't think I'm stepping on too many toes DL a Linux ISO @ 3AM

TW tread very carefully...You won't just lose my Internet service...
You'll also lose my Cable service!

Satellite and DSL are and easy fix..

You stand to lose my $140 per month....WATCH IT!

  2. "Peak" & "Off Peak"? on Time Warner to Charge Extra for Over-Quota Bandwidth · · Score: 0

I am a Roadrunner User and I have a few questions: 1) Will they have Peak and off-peak rates? (just like my good old cell phone) 2) Will they have different rates for their local bandwidth and internet bandwidth (Roadrunner has some great Newsgroups) 3) How high is the limit

Bush was duly elected..... He has the honor though of being only the 2nd President tha the most people didn't want. What matters in this situation is that when they took power one of the first orders of business was to kill the MS case. If I was a conspiracy theorist I'd say that MS helped in the design process of the butterfly ballot. It is just sad to see the DOJ being told to bend over for BILL GATES after they worked for so many years to get to this point...

  12. Replacement for electric "Old People" carts? on This is IT? · · Score: 1

I have a father who is 78 years old and has one of those electric carts that you sit in if he has to do any walking more than about 50 feet. I think this could possilby be very usefule for someone in such a situation. You may think that this "Segway" looks big and clunky but have your ever seen or lifted an electric cart. They are much heavier and much bigger. On the subject of price I return to my comparison to the electrric carts... got to www.hoveround.com and chech out the over $6000 price tag for theur chair/cart. I can easily see my father rinding one of these and I can easily see him spending the money for one too. I think everyone just got a little excited by the hype of the brainless media and the "blue skying" corporate exec who got to preview "IT" "It" doesn't have to replace a car or a bike to make it a very useful tool.
