If this supported ogg, I'd buy it... Maybe the parent poster and I are the only ones, but that's two more units sold. They must think that the cost of implementing it is more than the benifit of selling it. It's also likely that they were just trying to get it out the door and will (hopefully) implement it in the future.
I don't understand why there's so many MP3 zealots out there... What have you guys got against ogg?
That's bullshit. I read a good portion of the thread where they first discussed this and Mr. McVoy was pretty receptive to everything that the kernel people were saying. Did you read any of the threads or are you just flaming?
Larry said in a previous thread that if the kernel developers wanted to contact bitkeeper and get dispensation on the stuff they were worried about (because it doesn't follow the spirit of the license even though it might fall under the wording) that they could do that.
No one on the continent of North America uses the term "Yankee" unless they're referring to the baseball team. You're welcome to use it if you'd like though. We'll probably understand what you're talking about if it's in the proper context.
the empty space and the keys are the same icon. move the binary mentioned and it will remove the empty space and the "keys." I wouldn't have anything against the keys, but the empty space is annoying. There's no way to just remove the empty space... It seems like a flawed implementation to me.
I'm using KDE w/ redhat 8 right now, changing everything around and getting rid of that ugly bluecurve theme wasn't that bad. I'm even using KDM. The only thing that I had a problem with was removing that pam icon from the kde taskbar. I ended up renaming the binary... It's/usr/bin/pam-panel-icon if anyone is interested.
I think creating a common theme isn't a bad idea... The feel isn't my cup of tea though, since I don't like gnome. Changing everything wasn't that hard as long as you're familiar with the basic inner workings of the system
I've heard part of the performance... It's not just the noise that one might think it would be. They downloaded unique ringers into everyone's phone and created ordered melodies and rhythms. (this happened in europe where being able to download ring tones is more the norm and not the exception) It was very cool, and I really think you'd need to hear it to really appreciate it.../me shrugs
This happened a while ago... Not exactly breaking news. I saw Golan Speak in Ann Arbor, MI a few months ago. He did a performance with his visualization studio. If you ever get a chance to see him, he's a pretty cool guy.
but apparently you don't have to be epilectic to have a seziure. Mega-stimulation can just cause it... Obviously some people are more susceptible than others.
I don't know why I'm compelled to respond to this troll... I am well aware of Jakob Nielson. Why don't you just write "Don't use HTML because it's too hard to read webpages when I telnet into port 80"
You completely ignore the fact that stylesheets, when used properly, reduce bandwidth usage and increase usability.
If you've got cataracts are are so vastly intelligent, why don't you download a browser that will let you increase your font size instead of making generalizations and broad statements which are so easily proven wrong. I also doubt that there are "millions" of people that are so dramatically affected.
Well, "don't use stylesheets" doesn't make sense. If you're not going to change it, you shouldn't use it at all.
Stylesheets are part of the latest HTML spec, and when used properly reduce bandwidth usage and aid in usability. To not use stylesheets is to create depreciated code.
Even a 486 will run a browser that supports stylesheets. You'll just have to let go of the romantic notion that it's still 1996... it's called progress.
I don't think you understand economics. Nothing says that there has to be a winner where someday all graphics cards will come from. To believe that in some great "ending" there will just be a bunch of monopolies out there is a pretty wrong way to look at things.
One of the reasons that OSX is so cool (at least for me) is because all of the applications are loosely integrated together. Homogeneity is a good thing. It makes things easier to use and more efficient.
Yea, I don't know too much about the other 2 companies, but Caldera (er.. SCO) never was a big GPL fan, and Suse... Well, I never bothered to try them out because they don't provide ISOs. Mandrake has made probably 150 bucks off of me over the years because I was able to download and try out their distro. Now I buy official CDs because they're cheap, and I'm familiar with it... But I digress.
OGG support will not be beneficial to sales.

Actually, If you put hydrogen peroxide on potatoes you get the same effect. I can't remember what "ingredient" causes it, but it's there too.
When I was in middle school, we used to make and explode hydrogen balloons. Fun stuff
Anything that explodes is cool. Baking soda and vinegar, Sodium and water, Magnesium and fire, drano and tinfoil... :)

Alright, constrict. Verbs confuse me.

A friend of mine tried to have Lasik done... Apparently they shine a bright light in your eyes to dialate you pupils.
He had a seziure.
I won't be trying to do that any time soon.

He can probably go out and see a show and still have plenty of time to download Britney Spears' latest MP3. It will probably take all of 2 minutes.
You're right. America is much worse than China. What was I thinking. I wish I was living there right now... Oh wait, no I don't.
Who modded this dipshit up? He apparently enjoys having planes run into large buildings
+1, so true it hurts. I wish I had some mod points. China's human rights record sucks.

That's not the cache. that's a cache of the front page. The actual page isn't cached...
Karma Whore.
More power to ya' I always found windows to be ugly.

You mixed up your facist dictators... An honest mistake. You should have previewed first!
