They should at least make a phone call to the party so they don't waste time trying to figure out the problem.
Is there a call center large enough for this? There are alot of poeple that can easily fit this bill. Perrhaps an autodialer could aid here. An informative computer call may be the best way.
Linspire does not run as root. It does allow one to do so -- but so does Fedora, SuSE, and Mandrake. The problem is not with this but having 30 daemons running by default when possibly 7 are needed.
The pacifier was pretty good. It was a kids film, but very watchable for anyone. I probably will buy the DVD. But then again, I dont need a R movie with cusses and blood every 100th frame. Boobies are nice, but again, not needed.
But your point does hold some water. As of lately, the only movies I saw in the theater are:
Passion of Christ Matrix movies LoTR Saga AvP Spider Man 2 Pacifier Leminy Snickett (not bad, but forced by GF to see it with her)
Note -- the fact that they are all part of a saga for the most part (well even Jesus was part of a saga, the Bible so...).
I am curious if someone who wishes to settle would like to pay the artists (proportionally) that they downloaded music of. For example:
I propose 10% Pantera 30% Rush 60% Slipknot downloaded (random band names that pop into my head).
Can the fine can be paid directly to the band? The spirit of the law supposedly is for THEIR rights, why shouldnt THEY get their cut. I would even settle for a 15% RIAA fee for having to sue the hapless soul.
I bet I can guess the right answer... but this is a point that has bugged me for some time now.
Use the line out on your soundcard. Pipe that into your stereo reciever. Use that to amplify and manage the audio stream. I have several friends that do that exact same thing. They will not use ANY compression. Just the raw.wav file format. My friend has a smaller collection, but has a remote and a binder with the "cd number" and each track, ala jukebox. Whatever he bought for the remote allows him to key into his media player he hacked together the cd and track numbers just like a jukebox. Type something and it is added to the playlist. Track 00 is the entire album.
FC3 is a great release. FC1 was great too, unfortunately I cannot say that about FC2. My system was unstable and doggy. I spent the better part of 2 weeks trying to figure it out. Patching didnt seem to help either.
FC3 seems to have the best of all worlds. The new yum configuration is just plain fantastic -- simple and straightforward. The new gnome configuration tools are nice (not all useful to me but those that I do know that needed them were VERY grateful). System speed and responsiveness is also alot better than what even FC1 was for me.
I worked at a grocery strore and manned the liquor, floral, and video depts. We paid ~$75 for a estimated low rent title, and $100-$150 for expected high rent titles per VHS tape. This was right before they converted to DVD's and I got a real job.
But those that say that this isnt the case are full of it. I experienced it and had to run reports each week and another one for end of month as to what titles were sitting at for quite some time before they listened to me and got a script that did that for them. Most titles that didnt cost the buttload didn't rent. Take for example Army of Darkness. That was at 60% when I left (give or take, I checked a few days before hand, but I doubt that it rented at all -- much less at $1.99 or $.99 to make that big of a difference).
Now, BB can definitely make money on the titles under this method. Reselling them as used/previewed for at least that remaining cost (averaging the price for the lot of that title). Thats how my store operated.
FWIW, I worked at Sentry foods, a subsidiary of Fleming Co. in the SE Wisconsin area (Milwaukee & Waukesha for myself).
Nice tip! Thanks much. I will be downloading this tonight when I get off from class. I have an ancient Knoppix disc (3.1) that needs to be replaced soon. I figure this may cut the cake!
As for a GNOME fan, there is little that has met my tastes. I always am compelled to the very elegant KDE based ones. Oh well, perhaps I should just make my own:D
There is a company that sells legal cabinets to bars for $500.00. I found one at a local bar that is mame essentially. The bartender told me that it was dirt cheap (gamer himself) and mentioned that the side has the url and ani for the company. I would need to stop in with a pen and paper, but they are out there and are dirt cheap, considering all you do is call and wait for UPS. No legal bullshit either.
Plus with the OSS world, you have people ACTIVELY trying to find problems just so they can be plugged up. Almost every issue with Linux and *BSD is resolved in a VERY short period of time. How long is the average Microsoft lag between find and repair? Much longer than Red Hat, SuSE, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, etc.
And yes, parent post : That is a great point -- if Windows XP Home doesnt include DNS, Web, Email, and DHCP servers -- why test it on Red Hat?
Spatial doesn't refer to the new windows that popup, but rather the contents. Normally when you open the main window, you were just plopped at/home/username. Now since we have a categorical view (per se), you now have your real home dir as a new icon on the desktop, and then the "Computer" icon. That goes into your filesystem (like/,/etc,/usr, etc.), CD Drives, Zip Drives, USB JumpDrives, etc.
I feel that that is much simpler and allows a simpler and quicker way to organize. It also helps that that is almost how I organized my/data partition to begin with...
But that is the difference. Windows is somwhat spatial, not entirely. I havent used MacOS X long or recently enough to recall the specifics there. But XP has a picture, documents, and each drive. Which is closer to true spatial than what up to GNOME 2.4.x was.
Yeah, it should --- Its running at 20fps. anything below 60ish and you see jitter and skippiness. Hell I am pretty bad at noticing crap like that. My bottom is around 40fps. OTOH, I have a bud whose eyes are so finicky, anything less than 75-80, and he can see.
As far as in the USA, most scanners will print something over the scanned money. Generally its "Void" in stripes over the entire scan. Copiers are worse. There are several Xerox models that will literally lock up until a service tech fixes it if American money is inserted.
I see little in the need to copy a bill. We all have issues with forgeries and counterfitting ruining the value of the dollar/euro. Why not?
Get the Dr. to use a pc in the firt place. That way all you need to do is clean up the material. Sketches, flowcharts, and the kin can be entered using the appropriate tool.
I didnt notice a problem all though I did have issues similar. Huh? Let me explain.
Before installing, I updated my BIOS and AGP firmware. Since I couldnt reboot and still be downloading the torrents, I just rebooted after I finished burning. Well the install went smooth, and booted to FC2. I updated/installed what I needed and went to go finish fiddling with XP. Grub hung. After trashing my boot sector with the recovery CD (for XP), I realized that my BIOS was seeing my XP drive as CHS instead of LBA. Fixed that in the BIOS and reinstalled GRUB and now I am all set to Dual Boot.
So I cant say for certain what the hell really did happen, but I attest it to my lack of attention to details after updating my BIOS. And yes I am using two drives for the two OS's, so it is entirely possible that it is FC2's fault. But if I did what I should have, I could say for sure.
Okay, then. Whatabout making a multi only version. Hell, why not even join the massively multiplayer online only club?
I agree with your logic, very few companies have gotten the net code right on the first release (iD and Epic are the few that come to mind). Why not make a separate entity then?
I think I thus fall into the anti-Microsoft camp. I'd prefer to think of myself as being in the "pro-well-written-software" camp though. If Microsoft started writing good, secure, and interoperable software, I'd welcome them with open arms. My problem with MS is that in my "learned-the-hard-way" opinion, they don't.
Can this be any more well put? That is really what it boils down to.
They write shit code, and they are in truly despararete need to fix that. When they do, I agree, that the closed source OS posterboy wont be that bad to use and deal with.
I think tha it is not Ballmer's idiot comments, but their sheer lack of quality that pushes most of us away fromn their product line.
MS : If you are really listening, fix yor shit and keep up to date. This is not a job security thing, but a reality check.

Why is there really a need to make a name this frigging long? Does the need exist? I would have to say that this overcomplicates things quite a bit.
... Guess that's why THEY get paid the big bucks ...
And people say computer acronyms are hard

Well then, why would you want the user to have to worry about partitioning then?
Most users have no idea what the hell a partition is and would be confused none the less.
So I guess the Grim Reaper gets to find a new job. I reccomend an insurance salesman.
Wow!
:D

That is funny, since I know where the joke is coming from.
Well Duh, nor does the DNC.
It wont matter who is in the lead, the other will fire back.
Was A Clockwork Orange on the list? Great movie, better book.

The 8 was the disk drive number (4 was tape and 8-11 was the 4 disk drives you could attatch).
The 1 told it to load it as machine language IIRC.
