There's no way physics is going to be able to solve this problem. I was woken up this morning by a helicopter flying around. It was very irritating and not like an airplane. The stupid thing was hovering. They can't even solve the problem of noisy drones.
not sure this counts, but i had an old Apple ][+ clone that i ran a BBS on back in the early 80s. I had a phone circuit that sent power to the computer when the phone was rang, which was able to boot up and answer the phone before the 4th ring. Once the session was over, i sent a signal through the game port (a 14 or 16 pin DIP socket) to de-energize the relay which unpowered the computer. I also found the pointer to where the "Apple ][" text was and re-directed to another location of NOPs so I could get 10 characters to show up on the screen at bootup instead of the usual 8. pretty basic stuff, but i was 13.
i was thinking about the fumes being toxic at the levels they might be implying. Tattoos might release grams of fumes, vs. litres on several walls in a room.
Ahhh, those were the days. a whole CPU in a 40 pin DIP. you could actually do useful things with this mounted on an experimental breadboard. thanks for bringing back memories.
i've worked for the government and seen some doozy acronyms, but ASTEROID has got to be the best I've ever seen. it even stands for something that makes sense. bravo to to coiner.
can't help but think of rollerball (with james caan). does anyone remember the library scene where books are being converted into digital format and then accidentally get deleted, forever?
i just don't get it either. my laptop battery was able to a hold charge for 4 hours when new. one year later, i'm happy to see it last for 2 hours. same tech as electric cars, same cells in some cases. cars have higher demands on them.
Finally, it took a while to find a post like this, but this is the actual reason for the suit. I am one of the plaintiffs listed in the certification document and a few years ago i was called to a discovery meeting in toronto. i am happy to see this suit finally moving along. the $6.95 was described as a government lic. fee. it is not. the money all goes into the same pot as the other money they collect. they also have a witness from one of the cell phone co.s who was an employee and was told to mislead customers in the description of the so-called service fee. of course, the whole plan was to show a lower entry price.
Demon Seed (1977). it's obvious where this all leads.
from imdb
Scientist Alex Harris, doing research on artificial intelligence, is working on a special kind of computer. This computer grows more and more powerful and eventually rapes the scientist's wife, Susan Harris.
do you want lots of programmers or develop fewer, but better programmers. someone suggested assembly. yes, that's good, but go back one further to machine code, if its possible. i learned programming using those microprocessor kits with hex keyboards, displays, etc. you get a real sense of what's happening inside the CPU and how addressing and data transfer take place. this approach builds a deep foundation. i know people writing C/C++ that don't completely get stacks, interrupts, etc.. as for high level language, how about something completely different like logo and forth. it is a good way to illustrate the unimportance of a specific language.
... using ladder logic for programming programmable logic controllers. now that was something.... oh sorry, you said programmable logic devices, never mind.
started off w/300 baud. use to visit a BBS which had text based Godzilla v. Bambi. Before using the site, had to watch it. kinda of a splash screen, i guess. took about 5 minutes to complete. site wasn't meant for 300 baud.
went to a computer show. got a ruler from hayes advertising their new modem with:
Speed
Limit
2400
on it. done up like a road sign. funny, eh?

Ethanol? Will I be able to paint this on myself without a license? This is not a water based paint here.
Using this logic, wouldn't Greenland be part of Canada?

if you are in a race and you overtake the guy in second place, what position are u in?
certainly 2x2x2 which is 8 cubic inches. looking at the photo you get the idea the author of the article is innumerate.
ya, but for how long do they last

i just bought as t-shirt from the mozilla store. i will wear often and in busy areas of my city. market share will begin to improve shortly.
