Because he's got access to the source he's been able to do something novel with it in what appears to be an efficient and simple way...you couldn't do that with any of the closed source OSes out there today!
You're being waaay too partial here: You can always accomplish any "normal" task if the OS provides you a good API or DDK.
Quick Trick: Take the biggest show bag you're handed and turn it inside-out. Presto, no logo.
You are so 1337, huh? "Let's hurt these bad companies, advertising is evil!".
...MSN's script fails to parse Opera's default user-agent string and generates an ASP script error. That's why changing 1 char allows you to use Opera.
After multiple chkdsk's and defrag's (many of which caused spontaneous reboots in the middle before finishing), I still don't have the problem figured out.
What a great admin you are, huh?
I can picture this kind of conversation in your "job":
John: Joe, the computer is not working properly.
Joe: Let's call matty, he will defrag the disk for you.
Anyway, i think you should start reading about logs, knowledge base, MANUALS, drivers, event viewer, you know (i don't think so, muaahahaahah).
I've walked through the metal detectors at Detroit Metro, with two sets of keyrings, my sunglasses, and about 10-15 dollars of loonies and toonies(bigger than your US dollar coins), and not set the alarm off. There were 10 keys total on the keyring, and the change is a fair mass, along with the sunglasses.
Any space left for a couple of hammers or something?
When I wanted good documentation I had to go out and buy it -- either from the vendor like in the case of MSDN
That's not true, the *documentation* part (MSDN is not just about docs) of MSDN is free and it is available online. So the answer to "what documentation did you get with the Microsoft software?" is: Manuals and everything you can download from technet and MSDN, wich is *a lot* of stuff.
That's why I think that wireless tech should be improved and that's why wireless will be the future.
The FBI will LOVE this. Wireless is a snap to sniff. That is, unless you are talking about small, independent networks, which are hardly an alternative to the current net.
Really? With smart (maybe p2p-like?) wireless networks, FBI sniffers will have to cover the entire US territory, because this kind of communication is not centralized.
Are you implying that you can't store subscription content in a web cache?
Webcaches store HTTP requests, not *NNTP*.
People have been viewing web pages from behind proxy servers like Squid for years. I don't believe that there's a fundamental difference.
/. ever opens a NNTP server, it will be subscription-based.
The difference is that if
If the DDK allows you to do that (I believe that a gook DDK API should allow you to change process management behavior), then it's a "normal" task.

I think you mean Sun Microsystems, not Microsoft...
...and the THC crystals...
Just be carefull to NOT try to smoke your brand-new HDTV set, mmmkay?

Bypass the drivers?????? Why would a benchmark software developer spend a lot of money building his own drivers?
I know that you are just a racist troll but: Metal detectors are machines, the kind of machine that does not need any human interaction at all.
I am sorry, but MS-DOS is not bloated.
wonder if there's any GPL issues, as the source is not free (from what I can tell.)
Why? It's impossible to code a Emacs clone w/o stealing code? I don't think so.
Dunno how many floppies emacs will take though.
Humm, what RMS/OS version are you talking about?

Welp folks, it's time we built our own network...

What kind of good viruses? Microsoft Patches?
Sure, you can do that if you just don't want people to visit your website at all.
I am sure you'll find a lot of useful information and device listings at http://www.linuxdevices.com/, http://www.linuxdevices.com/products/index.html.
