This, run your own service at home... There are many ISPs out there that will give you static ips these days, modern home connections are more than fast enough for a moderately loaded email server and if the server is at your home you have physical control over it and can monitor it, you can also ensure the disk is fully encrypted since you'll be physically present to re-enter the key on bootup.

You don't even need a powerful, expensive and noisy server, a raspberry pi is more than adequate for running a mail server.

If someone malicious has a copy of the password hashes they can simply perform hash passing attacks with them as soon as they acquire the hashes, without requiring any cracking.

Also password cracking doesn't take a fixed amount of time except for the very weakest algorithms that can be completely brute forced. For most algorithms its a case of trying the most likely passwords first, and in most cases a hacker isn't targeting a single specific account - they're looking for any account that will give them access so they will use the first one that gets successfully cracked.

These are not people desperately fleeing a dangerous war torn country - they have already done that. They have already made it to at least one EU country and probably passed through several others in order to get there. And yet despite having already reached safety, they are still willing to take huge risks to get out of France and make it to the UK.

If you want to see more diversity among companies you have to start with kids in school and encourage them to take an interest in particular fields, as well as eliminating the peer pressure that exists in schools to push people away from certain fields.
For instance technology fields are seen as geeky, so people who show an interest are often picked on in schools and that discourages many people who would otherwise be interested.

  24. Well the problem was that the vote was too simple - in or out...
Most people in the UK don't really want to leave the EU, but they wanted reforms on a few key points (as do people in many other european countries) and there was no way to get those reforms so the only option was to leave. If the key problems with the EU were addressed and another referendum held i'm sure the vast majority would vote to stay.

So yes the people have spoken, they don't want to remain in the EU as it currently stands, but if suitable reforms were offered then another referendum would make sense - stay in the new reformed EU, or continue leaving.

The only "responsibilities" they have towards customers and employees are those imposed by consumer protection and employee protection laws, which vary greatly in different countries.

The owners (ie shareholders) of a company can choose to behave however they want within the bounds of the law, or choose to delegate that task to others. They may choose to treat their employees or customers well, but it's exactly that - a choice, not a responsibility.

The employees responsibilities are to carry out the will of the company owners within the confines of the law, whatever that may be.
