I've been running this one my inspiron also, for about two weeks, and love it. This thing is excellent. The only thing I don't like is how the everybody (the maintainer especially) won't stop talking about how doomed it is. Hello, sure it's tough to get started, and find help, but don't say "It's doomed" after every sentence!
I think Kyle has done an excellent job, and I understand his reasons for trying to get help. I'm doing what I can. But quit it with the doom and gloom all the time!
My bad film experience was when a bonehead projectionist messed up the order of MI:2 on opening day. Apparently there were 4 film reels.. obviously played in sequence. Only problem is the sequence we got was 1-3-2-4... Ever seen a packed theater give a collective WTF??? "Didn't that guy just get shot a minute ago?"
While staying at the Sheraton for the Open Source Convention/Perl Conference last year, I tried getting on to the local wireless network provided. Great during the sessions. The only problem was our room was at the far end of the hotel by the airport. Couldn't get a peep from the conference network out there, but I got an IP and DNS from the airport, and a great connection at that.
For all the ideas that get tossed about, why dont' we create a slashdot settlement? Everybody chips in and tells the DOJ in plain words what's wrong with the microsoft ideas, and then proposes a fair settlement(s), and discusses why it's a better idea.
At last years perl conference, a guy presented some perl/tk software he wrote (albeit on windows, with a microsoft voice sdk) at the lightning talks. It was excellent software, which I'm sure could be ported if somebody would take the time. Wish I could find the link
Well, here is what my friend who use windows did to get around that.
They run sendmail on port 26 and changed the port setting in the eudora.ini (or the the services file in windows to say smtp goes on port 26).
pretty simple, but still annoying.
Now my problem is that my broadband comes in over 802.11b, products like the linksys AP/Router/Switch would be prefect, if they allowed the WAN to come in over the 802.11... but it doesn't. Anybody else have this trouble?

They'll want in to not allow non win32 kernels on a PC, since anything not licensed by them must be illegal.
