  1. WinXP SP1 HA updates don't even work with MSN on Windows XP SP2 Could Break Some Applications · · Score: 2, Interesting

As of 1 week ago the internet explorer update Q832894 causes MSN 8.x and 9 to have an internal error on load. If MS can't even keep compatability with their own software what hope do third party vendors have.

  2. PC recyclers and Third world distribution on Proper Disposal Of Old PCs? · · Score: 1

I am in Nova Scotia, Canada and although I can't think of their names right now there are two companies operating here that take old computers refurb them and send them to schools, the third world, and other places of need. They don't charge for the service and will even come to my door to get the equipment. They operate out of Halifax (the provinces Capital) so if you google search for them you should find them.

  3. even more restrictions in Canada on The Demise of Model Rocketry? · · Score: 1

I have been trying for years to get Estes model rocket engines in Nova Scotia, Canada where I live. But due to the Canadian classification of them as munitions or fireworks I can't with out special liscence. If I am wrong about this an someone knows where I can get them with out a huge hassel that would be great. I could finally dig my models back out of storage. 4. Actually you can fly it on Buy Your Very Own Exoskeleton Flying Vehicle · · Score: 1

The message on e-bay says that you can only fly it for static or educational purposes only. So you can't strap missles to it to blow stuff up. And all you cat burglars out there are out of luck if you want to use it to quietly make up to the 100th floor safe.

  5. Linux as a converter on Poor Man's Stereoscopic Projection · · Score: 1

Now I could be wrong but as I understand the writeup the user is using a rather expensive converter to send the images to the projectors. Couldn't a Linux box with two xservers running and 2 video cards (or two linux boxes run by a master system, a mini cluster) do the same thing for under 4000?? I am not a Linux Guru by any streach of the imagination. But if that worked it would be a heck of a lot cheaper then the 12000 buck converter.

  6. Unforseen Sleepers. on Further Updates On Terrorist Attack · · Score: 1

Terrorist have for years used "sleepers". These would be young children trained and brain washed. They are then sent to the US, Canada, and other countries. They blend in get education and regular jobs. Once all the sleepers make it to the places they need to be, they recieve a call, or message and bang. The terrorists could have been the pilot, co-pilot, or any memeber of the flight crew. The resources need for this now really are reduced. All it took was time.
