  1. Re:A movie comes to mind. on The Verizon Wireless HTC Eris 'Silent Call Bug' · · Score: 1

yeah, no. Not every Wireless Phase 2 complaint phone will compute GPS coordinates fast enough for a quick 911 hangup. On silent calls, a "re-transmit" command can be used to see if coords are available. But the point is moot if agency policy, like mine, is to close out cellular 911 hangups or silent calls and to only attempt call backs. Cell phones, being mobile, are infeasible to track down as opposed to landlines. In the event of a traffic accident, most likely unless you are in the middle of nowhere and the person you hit is dead, there will be several other people with cell phones just eager to provide shoddy information about what they witnessed, but unwilling to assist on.

A place to look?? Let me tell you, when I had a throttle body issue that wouldn't let the engine idle less that 1000rpm (where 800 is spec) causing the O2 sensor to go crazy and throw a code. ODBII shows O2 sensor code, mechanic replaces it and viola!! Except when I get it home and it stalls out with the same symptom. Mechanic says bring it in, ODBII says O2, mechanic replaces it, wipes his hands of it and repeat. It wasn't until the throttle linkage comes apart at highway speeds that the problem was found and fixed. No stinkin' O2 sensor, it was a throttle body issue that a old timer mechanic discovered while reattaching the linkage and didn't even bother with the diagnostics computer. So Excelcia is spot on, most mechanics aren't even mechanics anymore, they like foreign tech support that reads solutions from a symptom/code flow chart and follows it religiously.

Having to have a CJ degree will greatly increase the cost to the consumer for these services and will end up decreasing the overall clientel for the entire PC repair market in Texas. That will in turn decrease the number of potential service providers of repair to a small number of shops.

So... yeah... Best to learn how to fix it yourself, Tex.

This isn't Sony marketing. This is Merill Lynch. Does anybody actually read anymore? Sony isn't saying anything about anything dealing with PS3.

Why is it everytime an article is posted as speculation, the first thing that happens is everybody associates with an offical press release? The second thing is the run to EB and GameStop asking if the system really will cost them $900 and releasing next year.

Is there any reason why all this currency is kept as legal tender? Yes, because it's legal tender. It will never be considered non-legal tender. This was one of the foundations of this country. Every time you think to yourself, "Why do the States do things so differently than the UK?" remember why we're NOT part of the UK. How would you like to wake up tomorrow to find that you money has been totally replaced?? ....wait, that actually happened to you, didn't it? Well, it won't happen here!

NO, no, no. It's been proven that the show format is stronger than the host. Look at what happened to Craig Kilborn. TDS was still strong with a new host and Craig's new show was a flop. The Man Show floated for a season while Jimmy Kimmel's show bombed. Also Dennis Miller. I can't stand to watch his MSNBC or CNBC crap now. If Jon leaves TDS and succeds, it'll be a miracle.
