Linux is fantastic if you're an uber geek but for the masses it's just far too complicated and difficult to set up, maintain and use on a day to day basis. Mac OS X has proven that you can have a rock solid UNIX core with an interface that even newbies can pick up very quickly. It's also extremely easy for novice users to to install/remove applications and set up those programs to work as they want to without having to drop in to the command line. That's what I want from a Linux distribution. The author provides some great points and I hope the Linux community embraces this project and helps make it a reality.
What blacklist do you currently use on your email servers? relays.osirusoft.com, spahmaus.org, spews.org or something else? Is any one better than another? Which do you recommend?
I'm no computer geek like most slashdotters but it seems as though 802.11b is pretty easy to hack. It seems like it's fairly easy, even though all security features are enabled, for people to "sniff" packets for information and get onto the wireless network. As I said I'm no techie but with passwords for email, webmail, server access ect. being broadcast, is it really this easy for someone to sit in a car across the street and steal all the information they can find on a wireless network? Why is it not possible to have a secure solution that even someone like me could set up?
Service is out here in Portland, OR. It's been so long since I've used a dial up account that I forgot how painful it is. Looks like I'll have to go to work to surf if I want to keep my sanity.
It's too bad I'm not six anymore or I might have really enjoyed Star Wars Episode I. There's no way in hell I'm going to pay money to see the next Star Wars unless reviews say that it's not a film for young children like the last one. I'm not holding my breath in anticipation of Lucas' next effort. They say you can't go back home and this was most certainly the case with Star Wars. I had great hopes as the series moved on but this was one of the biggest letdowns of my my life. Sorry George, you may have done some great things in the past but don't you have enough money? How much more do you need you greedy bastard? Clearly EP I was made as a cash cow instead of with the intention of making a great film.
Stand up and make yourself heard. If you are upset about this then you should use the feedback link and let dragonball z network er, I mean cartoon network know exactly how you feel. The only reason I ever tune into that network is to watch mobile suite gundam and cowboy bebop. Cowboy Bebop is brilliant! I've only seen three episoeds to date but each one was amazing. Just my luck, as soon as I start to like something the network drops it. I with I had bland tastes so I could be part of the majority and not have to deal with this stuff.
The only way dragonball z network will make a change for the better is if everyone uses the feedback link so we can send the message loud and clear that we are pissed off. Adult swim is great but after a bonehead programming move like this I won't be at all surprised to see them drop space ghost next.
The year is Universal Century 0079. The One Year War between the Earth Federation and the Prinicipality of Zeon has deadlocked. Unbeknown to Zeon, the Federation has been working on building its own ultimate weapon: Gundam. The new prototype is to be shipped to Earth from its home on the space colony Side 7. But a surprise attack puts the mobile suit into the hands of a teenager who just might save the world.
