Totally unrelated Focus story. About 10 years ago, I knew 2 guys, who didn't know each other, who both owned black Ford Focuses. In the same week, they both took their cars to separate Wal-Marts for oil changes. One had the oil plug left off, and leaked oil and caught fire on the way home. The other had the oil filter put on too loosely, which then fell off, causing and oil leak and fire on the way home.
Weirded me out but good.
On the contrary, it would simply provide evidence to back up a simple, intentionally ludicrous, hypothesis. Now, if they find God up there. . .
I know, I know, WHOOOOOOSH. . .
You'd think the Navy would pay attention to this. I can't imagine that leaving a trail of oddly-behaving animals would be good for keeping their boat's whereabouts under wraps. "Your sub was in my harbor!" "No, it wasn't" "The trail of deaf and confused dolphins suggests otherwise!"
+1. He's also really helpful and insightful on the Fedora lists, too, and not just on kernel stuff. Alan, if you're reading this, please keep hanging around there.:)

And for what it's worth, we're using Linux on a large number of workstations without it. Google OpenLDAP, apt, yum, sudo, kickstart. I spend so much less time messing with security and policy than my Windows counterparts that it's embarrassing.
Sounds like today's XKCD was apropos: http://xkcd.com/593/
Capsela? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capsela
I used to be able to hear this sort of thing, telling when a muted TV was on at school and in which classroom, but not since high school.

I used to work for a company that builds large machines to do exactly that.
Only if then approved by a judge. If application and acceptance are the same, why didn't I go to MIT?
Nah, it's for an upcoming Disaster Area reunion.

Of course I say that, and then I installed it and selected OMG Ponies!!! and it's not working. . .
Sounds like you need Slashdotter: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2175
Could be Accordion Master.
No 6 digit ID club? ;)
Um, wouldn't this sort of thing make it a hot war? Like what would have happened if the USA and USSR had actually lobbed nuked hither and yon?
I'm more of a puppet fan, myself: http://reductivelabs.com/products/products/puppet
I was mocking the /. headline, not the article headline. :)
You mean third. ISS, Moon, *Sun*. :)
See, people keep forgetting, maybe evolution/God is simply using human intellect as a mechanism with which to engineer the vaccine. Ta-da! ;)
But, alas, had already commented.
Sure. Install Fedora 10, and yum install boinc.

Losing the GUI? What about BAT?
Yes to all 3. It's really not that complicated.
So you have Tuesdays off? :)
