Are you seriously equating racism & sexism with Communism? The previous two are social problems attributed to a political stance while the former is one of the causes of it. Democracy & Communism are NOT that far apart.....just ask your local Congressman.
I dunno......I've heard of at least 250,000 Pakistanis that would simply LOVE to protest outside of the Whitehouse; would THAT be terrorism or should we just wait until something happens before claiming it could have been prevented?
I believe the intent of the poster's statement was constitutionality; not frivolous lawsuits trying to side step obvious stupidity (the infamous McDonald's incident comes to mind). There is a huge difference between suing because of negligence and suing because your rights were infringed. I applaud the statement because it may make our legislators more reluctant to pass bills like the DMCA after accepting a million dollars of campaign money from the RIAA knowing they'll have to budget its repeal. NOW where's that million dollar donation? Ask your congressman or senator THAT question and he'll feel a little more uncomfortable asking his district to pick up the tab.
Just MHO.
I completely agree with you; however, 'legislating morality....' is a dangerous statement. All laws & legislation are introduced, passed or rejected based on the morality of its citizens (keep in mind, in a perfect democracy the legislators are the representatives of the citizens with no hidden agendas; but we know that's a joke too). Either way, laws ARE the reflection of morality so what are we trying to accomplish here?
Yes....but the rich are not getting poorer because of some level 80-20 type tax thought process either. The upper 5% SHOULD be paying that much because they make that much more. If the 80-20 rule were to apply to taxation, the upper 20% should be responsible for 80% of the taxes....but we know THAT will never happen; they just won't let it.
I thought this country was derived from one of the facts that we can't have taxation without representation. We, as a country, seperated ourselves from a dictator because of taxes yet that seems to be the only way our government can support itself; especially with Senators & Congressmen who can annually vote themselves a raise within a recession....must be nice. In my opinion, representatives of government should be working for the legal minimum wag (which THEY set); they're public servants, not elected Gods. Now, you and I are taxed 24 hours a day on everything from income to spending; think about it....what AREN'T you taxed on? Now they want MORE? Call it what you will....but this country is stepping back centuries into a time when there was a king. The president is the king with all the senators & congressmen as his lords. It pains me at election time because I know for a fact the dirtball, scum sucking POS electee will vote himself a raise come the next convene of congress or the senate. Why should I even vote? My taxes go up, my income goes down and all the while Bill & Hilary enjoy secret service protection at my expense. Please. Sorry for the rant, butI needed to get that off my chest.

Just like some poster to turn this into a racial thing. If dealing drugs is against the law (which I agree with) and the dealers are mostly black, what does that tell you? You wont need a statistics class to figure that one out.
Sheesh.
I disagree. The previous poster stated that it's HIS computer. If he wants autorun on, then so be it. That does'nt make it right for a third party to send or receive any information from that PC. Turning things on & off on your computer does not absolve others from hacking or viewing your system. Whether or not it's stupid to do so is irrelevent. I know it's knaive, but hey....whatever.
Really? I wish you would tell my local utilities that! I could have AT&T in my local area but choose not to. I could have Time/Warner and choose not to; I could have Sprint PCS and choose not to. Either way...a choice is still given and I choose my way; not the populous way.
Then you can afford not to have it. Point, set and maybe match? I'm a consumer as well...no need to put your heart above your head. People should really think before backing a format that does not support their needs (linux and MS alike). If OpenOffice or StarOffice does it for you; great. If not....well, then suck it up and sue MS for anti-something....
I can't disagree with you, but I can tell you that I've had my XP system running 24/7 for about a year now with no viable crashes (crashes I created myself, by mistake; ie...interrupting an install, overriding an update during startup...)and none of my programs were affected due to the system restore function. I'm not sure that's what you were referring to, but my experience has been nothing but good; better than average at the least.
I agree. The MS Works suite is PERFECT for the beginning home user. I shy away from it because I create newsletters with graphics and hyperlinks on websites, but for the home user there's nothing better; even StarOffice. I was just wondering when someone would bring that up.
Just curious.....could FatWallet.com just have asked for a summary judgement PRIOR to removing the data from their website? It probably would've lasted at least a week in the courts anyhow.
Then the both of you would come before me....a Supreme Court Justice....to hear the case. HAHAHAHAHAHA.........whoever pays the most wins! I CAN BE BOUGHT!

I would prefer that they come here and speak English first; but that's just my opinion. (ps....not the 'ohidonspeekengrish' version either)

C'mon......what male has watched that animated movie and NOT gotten a boner?
I think he meant if you're NOT high.
I LOVE IT!

Oops, I forgot.....people are not allowed to make mistakes; especially on Slashdot.

Last I heard, doing 120 is still illegal; at least in this country.
I'll take that bet; only as a gentleman though!

I don't get it....you acknowledge it's slower with less features but claim it's a MS killer? What gives?
I agree. The MS Works suite is PERFECT for the beginning home user. I shy away from it because I create newsletters with graphics and hyperlinks on websites, but for the home user there's nothing better; even StarOffice. I was just wondering when someone would bring that up.
Not illegal to have a monopoly? How about AT&T?
Just curious.....could FatWallet.com just have asked for a summary judgement PRIOR to removing the data from their website? It probably would've lasted at least a week in the courts anyhow.
HEY....I can only post when I drink; that's the only time any of this makes sense.
