Are you seriously equating racism & sexism with Communism? The previous two are social problems attributed to a political stance while the former is one of the causes of it. Democracy & Communism are NOT that far apart.....just ask your local Congressman.

I believe the intent of the poster's statement was constitutionality; not frivolous lawsuits trying to side step obvious stupidity (the infamous McDonald's incident comes to mind). There is a huge difference between suing because of negligence and suing because your rights were infringed. I applaud the statement because it may make our legislators more reluctant to pass bills like the DMCA after accepting a million dollars of campaign money from the RIAA knowing they'll have to budget its repeal. NOW where's that million dollar donation? Ask your congressman or senator THAT question and he'll feel a little more uncomfortable asking his district to pick up the tab. Just MHO.

I completely agree with you; however, 'legislating morality....' is a dangerous statement. All laws & legislation are introduced, passed or rejected based on the morality of its citizens (keep in mind, in a perfect democracy the legislators are the representatives of the citizens with no hidden agendas; but we know that's a joke too). Either way, laws ARE the reflection of morality so what are we trying to accomplish here?

Yes....but the rich are not getting poorer because of some level 80-20 type tax thought process either. The upper 5% SHOULD be paying that much because they make that much more. If the 80-20 rule were to apply to taxation, the upper 20% should be responsible for 80% of the taxes....but we know THAT will never happen; they just won't let it.

  11. How much is enough? on California Considering More Internet Taxes · · Score: 1

I thought this country was derived from one of the facts that we can't have taxation without representation. We, as a country, seperated ourselves from a dictator because of taxes yet that seems to be the only way our government can support itself; especially with Senators & Congressmen who can annually vote themselves a raise within a recession....must be nice. In my opinion, representatives of government should be working for the legal minimum wag (which THEY set); they're public servants, not elected Gods. Now, you and I are taxed 24 hours a day on everything from income to spending; think about it....what AREN'T you taxed on? Now they want MORE? Call it what you will....but this country is stepping back centuries into a time when there was a king. The president is the king with all the senators & congressmen as his lords. It pains me at election time because I know for a fact the dirtball, scum sucking POS electee will vote himself a raise come the next convene of congress or the senate. Why should I even vote? My taxes go up, my income goes down and all the while Bill & Hilary enjoy secret service protection at my expense. Please. Sorry for the rant, butI needed to get that off my chest.

I disagree. The previous poster stated that it's HIS computer. If he wants autorun on, then so be it. That does'nt make it right for a third party to send or receive any information from that PC. Turning things on & off on your computer does not absolve others from hacking or viewing your system. Whether or not it's stupid to do so is irrelevent. I know it's knaive, but hey....whatever.
