Hi Folks !
This, in my opinion, just means that someone will get much $$$ for fiddling around with Kismet, Ethereal, Nmap, Saint et al. and writing a Frontend for it.
just my 2c.

You should try the drivers from http://opensource.creative.com !
To install them, you should edit/etc/modules.conf appropriately and you should compile your kernel with sound and oss included, but with emu10k1 as module.
After compilation, you should replace the kernel modules by installing the ones from opensource.creative.com.
If you want Sequencer enabled, you should edit and change Makefile.config in your emu10k1 directory.
At least on my machine QuakeIII rocks WITH sound !
But what the folks at id really should change is, they should use SDL not/dev/dsp !
Because SDL works better with Desktop Environments like KDE (2.2.1).
Have a nice day

It might be a reality to live nearly cashless in the USA, but here in switzerland, you just use your credit- or debit-card to get cash from a local post office or a bancomat and you usually pay cash !
At least I'm used to pay everything in cash !
Recently some stupid bankers tried to introduce a cash-card-system. Well only few use it. Real cash cannot lose it's memory and real cash doesn't cost interests.
