Before enacting this lame-a** idea they should
have done the research. Set up a simulation
of a movie theatre, Steal the movie themselves.
Try to watch it.
*woman* Oh, I have a headache
*man* Here's 2 asprin, we WILL have sex tonight!
*woman* No, 2 pills don't do it for me, I need 16.
*man* fine, we will have sex tonight.
*woman* But what if it conflicts with my anti-depressant, my anti-congestant, or my makeup!
*man* You'd probably be healthier without all of that junk...and besides your headache is caused by a government conspiracy to stop me from stealing the movie we are watching.
instead of concentrating on developing new and innovative plots and story lines the Hollywood
Studios are spending a lot of money to try to stop people from stealing a bad copy of a movie which
only serves as advertisement for their movies.
If the "stolen" movie was any good, the "thief"
would then go out and purchase the DVD, or VHS for the extra features.
Like with music, this censorship will do nothing to halt the freedom of information, and it will only serve to raise the prices of movies in the US so that more and more people will choose not to go.

We still have Serbia, Iran, North Korea, Pakistan, and a whole slew of others (France) to go through before the Bush Administration is happy. And don't look to Congress for help, they signed away their voice about a year ago.
did you make copies? After failing so many times I'd imagine that you'd scan or photocopy your data so that you would have some evidence of company or postal wrong doing for the FCC.
Did you tell your mother that filling our rebates wasn't something you were successful at?
Sounds like she's got cause for a lawsuit against you.
Most of us are accepting of people of different
backgrounds and sexual orientation. So, feel free to admit your deepest fear.
I won't hurt you...Neither will my ex-wife, or my girlfriend, or even my boyfriend.

18,0000 when school is in session.
What is the reason for it?
Cable companies don't lay fiber to the curb and max out at 2MB/s if they are generous.
This is an educated research community that should benefit from a decent infrastructure.
Also, a move like this by the people will be a kick in arse to the verizons and comcasts of the world.
Cable companies are doing well.
Then why aren't they laying fiber? Because they are shoving monopoly legistlation down our throats.
$40 a month (to the government) TheirGovernment and its cheaper than
what I'm paying now for 2/100ths of the service.
Government conspiracies require government money and someone with a clue, and they just aren't there.
And since the Federal Government already signed away your freedoms (see Patriot act, Patriot2 act) nothing a local gov. run ISP will do will affect you an differently except making the world you live in a better place.
Well the sad thing is that Overclockers are a very small minority of the world's population and hence Intel's customer base.
Even among the geek/nerd community you are a minority.
Its something that some people do as a hobby while the rest of the world is using that time more productively. Buying a computer with twice the
speed every two years is enough for most people and
businesses.
On the other hand, Grandmothers, and Home users are a very large customer base. And Intel would rather them not be turned off of computers because
they bought it from some schmuck who took a 2Gig process and Clocked it up to 2.5G and then sold it knowing full well that it would die in 3 months.
Some schools require that the parents sign all homework that gets turned in!
New Report in:
More and more of these parents are found to have improved math and reading skills. Student scores remain the same.
It certainly isn't a BAD joke.
as simple as that.
They've never watched one of these.

Problem solved. No wasted capital.
Haven't you seen Canadian Bacon?!?

Take gun, display foot, Shoot foot.
Last week the Fed-ex guy showed up with one of these things.
my power supply?

The average person should be able to maintain up to 6 tasks at one time, but any more and your borked.

Which Republicans don't have to pay for because of tax write offs and deficits.
;-)
I don't think you get it yet.
Too bad, his ethics got in the way of employing some more fine Canadian Open Source Programmers.
I like his original statement:
something like: "At least the money won't be going to build some nuclear weapon somewhere"
We still have Serbia, Iran, North Korea, Pakistan, and a whole slew of others (France) to go through before the Bush Administration is happy. And don't look to Congress for help, they signed away their voice about a year ago.
What does this have to do with a grand for OpenBSD?
Politics.
Don't piss off the guy with the money.
Its bad business.
anytime something gets posted to slashdot it finds its way to some senator or president and someone pulls funding for it....
This time it was probably some Republican reader who didn't like it that he was getting cheated by the US grant system.

Of course, you can't blame the arabs for their own part in all of this.
Especially not their religious beliefs.
That would just be wrong.
And I don't think its very wise for you to be allowed to buy a gun.
Does it mean that because you can use your power for evil, that you will?
No. That doesn't mean that I like it.
If information didn't fall into our hands we wouldn't be able to protect ourselves from _1984_.
I agree this is a great achievement for all of the people working on Linux. Kudos.
Katana would be a nice name for Phoenix/Firebird.

data is on the hard drive, or in memory. No cpu that I know of will erase an entire hard drive in a freak mistake...It'll just stop working.
