    Do you people consider the thousands in these communites who don't even own a computer and who will derive absolutely no benefit from this government-mandated service?

    I can't help but wonder how much those "thousands... who don't even own a computer" contribute in tax revenues. I'm guessing not so much...

    I've rarely heard that argument put forth to get the government out of the road building business.

    Attempts to do this may well backfire and amplify the power of those with deep pockets -- they will be in a much better position to afford the lawyer time to look for loopholes in the laws and regulations, use them, and then defend that use in court.

    Somehow I think that is precisely the point...

    Administrative Law Judge Susan Kirkland agreed, writing state law clearly contemplates "that manual recounts will be done on each certified voting system, including the touchscreen voting systems."

    With a primary election Tuesday and more than one-half the state's voters in counties that use touchscreens, it is not clear what those counties will do.

    Actually, several companies here in the US are looking at overbuilding cable systems in major metro areas. Some cities (SF for example) laying empty conduit in when they rebuild streets to sell to whomever (cable or phone) later. The places where you are going to see monpoly problems are in outer suburban/ exurban areas where the number of houses per starnd mile is low and the infrastructure (primarily power/phone polls) may already be strained with the current load. For these areas I agree that mandating reaonable access rates for cable interenet access is a must.

    Sounds like good advice. I know a civil engineer who began doing that sort of fly-through animation using scripts back in the days of ACAD r11 +/-... At the time he was working on fly-through's of the Hong Kong Airport (circa '91?). Big business and getting bigger all the time. But what are some options -- meaning CHEAP -- to 3D Studio Max???

    As an over-educated draughtsman, I've been schlepping(?) fo'the man for about 11 years. Wanted to 'be in pixels' -- love that expression -- since, oh, about 1977 (Star Wars/New Hope, anyone?). Is there a discussion group for this???

    Anyone putzed around with Radiance or is that 'so last week?'
