Let's see if magarity apologizes for spreading his ignorance. In his world people just woke up to a 40 hour work week graciously given by their capitalist masters....must be a nice place to live
Tell that to the NFL players Union, or the Pilots Union. When you invest heavily in a skill that is not readily transferable, unions start to make sense. Why is it ok for companies to collaborate and blackball a worker, but it is not ok for employees to make an agreement to blackball an employer?
Stop in the USPS, you can use your debit card to get a money order. It's cheaper then most ATM or certified check fees. Every other money order places require cash, but the USPS will let you use a debit card and their system pulls it out of your accout instantly.
I don't care what policies are pushed in the house. I care that people know how to negotiate and compromise to make things work. If you don't see that problem in the house, you are blind.
While I have been disappointed in Obama, I don't think he is to blame for most of our problems. The real problem is out of my control. I can voter for a decent president. I can't vote for a decent representative for every small minded gerry-mandered district in America. You can see many states, Blue and Red that elect knowledgeable people who are good at representing the voters.
But time and time again there are places that always elect the incumbent who has become too entrenched to do anything good, or pants on head crazy people who can't be reasoned with.
Obviously you haven't read the amendment. It allows for rights to be assigned to corporations through federal, state, or local law. It just prevents them from claiming the inalienable rights of people. Corporate advertising is not free speech, it is "commercial speech", educate yourself.
I think that Unions, religious organizations, and non-profits are just as devoid of inalienable rights as corporations. People have rights, not legal constructs. However, I can see why people are less upset about a group that domocratically elects it's leaders (at least in theory) vs. a group that is entirely profit driven and has no obligation to consider the wishes of it's owners (most stockholder votes are non-binding).
How about giving 20 bucks to some homeless guy to keep him and his friends hopeful enough to stay in society instead of forming a mob that takes what it wants until it is crushed by an expensive war effort and everyone is left worse off after they are forced to spend most of their money on security.
See most feudal societies with weak kings for a reference.
The problem is when there is no other option. You should be able to get paid your full pay without fees. I also think you should be able to cash checks for the full face value by taking them to the issuing bank. Unfortunately that is not currently the case. I would love to see this fixed by legislation.
It's not fair to pass these costs on to the employee. The employer know exactly what their banking products is and what it costs and they take that into consideration when they negotiate a pay rate. The employee doesn't know that when they are agreeing to a pay rate they will be dinged on a portion of that due to the banking choices made by the employer.
I am not a fan of big banks and I do most of my banking with a CU, but chase has an excellent prepaid debit card they call "chase liquid". It's similar to a fee based checking account. You pay a monthly fee and that's it. You can use it as a debit or ATM card. You can add money at the branch or at an ATM. You can have direct deposit. You can't write checks and there is no overdraft. It's worth looking at. I think PNC also has a similar product that is geared more toward transitioning you to a regular checking account.
They guys that know what they are doing are expensive no matter what platform they are supporting. Sure there are plenty of know-nothing vmware guys since it is a more common buzzword. Too bad you are just getting a warm body that can take directions and call a support line. I good tech/admin is totally different.
Good point. I'm sick of seeing the constant ads posted on craigslist for top tier talent at $15 an hour. If you are a tech company, paying secretary wages is a mistake. Talent costs money.
Do you have any older siblings? I guarantee you can hold someone down and give them a titty twister or use your hands to take apart their lego creation. It involves using your legs or their own body to pin their arms. It's not that difficult, a 12 year old can figure it out. Watch real wrestling sometime if you are skeptical.
Because it would would probably be damaging to linear access devices, like tapes, to be spinning forward and suddenly reverse a few inches. With random access devices this becomes an obvious thing. Even though I hate it and wish I could disable it.
My comcast box and my Uverse box do this. It infuriates me. It jumps back further the faster you are going, so if you have good reaction time, or the foresight to see when the commercials are ending you just jumped back three commercials.
I almost exclusively use the 30 second jump feature to avoid this jump back feature.

Have you read through the price lists that were released awhile back? It is definitely indicative of the problem.

We still try to do our best...
I love my pfsense Alix router. It will solve all your router problems. You can also do IP power management, but the devices are expensive: http://www.amazon.com/Managed-Designed-Manufactured-Synaccess-Networks/dp/B0039OZKPE

This is why I am so amused when people say your phone will be your wallet in the future.
Who the hell trusts their phone company? Now I can add who trusts their phone manufacturer? Not that I really trust my bank that much either...
Looks like a good place to leave this: http://www.movetoamend.org.
Holy CRAP, the Canucks have mind meld!
Sorry I commented up thread so no mod points, but I like the cut of your jib.

I have to concur, just take a peek at that rape thread yesterday.
Thank you, well said.
The accounts I read included digital penetration, which does constitute rape. Even stripping someone and fondling their body is a sexual assault.

desire for power and desire for sex are not mutually exclusive.
Your carefully constructed tower of logic just caused you to loop around and agree with us, congratulations.

Then how does high frequency trading work? Let me guess, they have a special law for stock.
