No idea who scored the above post as Insightful, he was never a Canadian and still doesn't own any Canadian newspapers.
Murdoch was an Australian citizen. He started out inheriting 1 daily newspaper in Adelaide, Australia. He grew to control most daily metro & regional newspapers & magazines in Australia.
He also bought some UK newspapers and had a large run in with newspaper unions that he won with help from British PM Margaret Thatcher. He also eventually took control of BSkyB, the leading UK satellite service.
When he went to the US and bought 20th Century Fox and established the Fox brand through TV station acquisitions he had to change his citizenship to US as a requirement to own as much media as he does.
News Corporation, the parent company of the various media holdings, is still an Australian company.
The Treo is indeed the best integrated phone/PDA on the market currently.
Specifically the 270 or 300 have a nicely developed UI that allow most common features to be accessed quickly with minimal keystrokes.
There is an on-screen keyboard usable with fingers or the built-in thumbboard works as well, the most easiest way is to select the numbers from the contact list.
It also syncs to Outlook or other PIMs for contacts & diary entries.
In the US, Sprint also has a great deal for bundled Data access including a specific Treo 300 phone.
The GPRS upgrade has been approved by most GPRS carriers including all the Australian carriers where I live.
Only limit is the 270 screen which washes out in direct sunlight. Also early versions had a bad backlight that could fail in the first few weeks of use.
As in all things, these devices will get better but for the time being it is the best combination for somebody who doesn't want to carry 2 devices.
Cheers

Of course you realise is just Novell's demonstration system for Novell NetMail 3.1.
It works and has calendars and I have never received spam into myrealbox account.
There are no service guarantees and expect it to not be available all the time and this is where they beta test new versions before releasing them to real use.
ps at US$15 a user with calendaring, IMAP and Web access and scaling to 10,000 users a box it is a nice solution
The sequel to Age of Empires II, Age of Mythology, was looking very mature late last year. Then Microsoft bought Ensemble Studios the developer of the Ages series and release was pushed back to Sept 02. No doubt an Xbox version will be released either before or simultaneously wiht the PC release. The graphics look great.
They have also confirmed another game is in the works with no timeframe and platform announced. Be assured Microsoft development houses will be focused on making exclusive Xbox games to push the console, like Bungie.

There is now a dedicated Linux server for Bolo, called LinBolo, and a Linux client is promised.
This is from the same guy who created the Windows client for Bolo, WinBolo
Bolo is still going strong and has grown beyond its Macintosh origins
It has since been totally re-written for Windows by an Australian fan. With permission of the original author he uses the original graphics (which if you know your history originated on a BBC Micro)
I used to play Bolo forever on my Mac now I can do the same with Winbolo
There also is a dedicated Linux server version and the Linux client is supposed to be any day soon (but that was Feb 02;)
There was an incident with Telstra, Australia's largest telco/ISP where users were caught out trying to uncap their cable limits.
The carrier didn't catch them, a lot of users (read 13yo kiddies) had been duped into downloading cable modem uncapping software. The software was in fact the SubSeven Trojan.
Those who had downloaded the software had their computers hacked. The hacker later posted a list of accounts & passwords they had obtained, at least 100 people were duped
Just beware, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is
Novell does many things wrong but their eDirectory ( http://www.novell.com/products/edirectory) product is clearly the leader
It runs native on Windows NT4, 2000, Linux, Solaris, AIX and Netware 4, 5 & 6.
It also is LDAP 3.0 compliant and is managed through a Java-based console that will run on any platform with a JVM.
It also has flexible Authentication extensions and Account Management for Windows, Linux & Netware that enable administration of file system shares.
And for all that developers can bundle a 250,000 user version of eDirectory with their Apps for free (http://developer.novell.com/edirectory/)
Although its not open-source it should be bundled with Linux distributions targeted at large organisations to provide a scalable, cross-platform secure directory system
This restriction is to make illegal the use of products such as rdesktop (http://www.rdesktop.org) not VNC. Although it reads that you would need 'the Product' Windows XP Pro on the dekstop that is accessing the host.
Windows Termial Services is included in W2K server and is used in WinXP for Remote Desktop. In W2K TS each client must either be a Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP Pro desktop or have a separate W2K TS Client Access License.
And if you haven't guessed a W2K TS CAL costs about as much as a desktop license so you pay the MS tax either way.
This is to prevent free Unix desktops running essential Windows applications that they cannot find functional alternatives on the Unix platform and hence continue the hegemony.
Cheers

I thought the most interesting quote on the Microsoft HPC cluster pages was that they bundle an Open Source application with Windows 2000 Server in the preview kit.
Not sure if it is GNU but sounds like it is good enough for MS to use it

Slashdot is a quoted news source being used by Google News.
Be afraid, be very afraid
Methinks this is just a technology to allow Bolo players to find games without any configuration changes being required.
Bolo and WinBolo rock!

Those New Zealanders are more advanced than I thought. But still not enough to get the World Cup. Go you Wallabies!
What do you think Spammers use? Dial-up modems? Maybe this will put a few spammers out of business

So if I drop it what happens?
OpenOffice.org is the Open Source base code used in StarOffice.
OpenOffice.org 1.0 is due to be released in April and is the same base code as StarOffice 6.0
