    And AdTI?? Well, we have to be thankfull, without them (and M$) this wonderful joke wouldn't get out.

    So... Thanks AdTI and thanks to our dear sponsor M$, hope they will start to be more aggressive in comedian bussines. It suits them more than computer bussiness

    I just wonder how expensive this joke was for M$, more or less than LOTR?

    Forgot the icon sets you asked.

    I wouldn't even care for them (and those screenshots, I always draw my own custom made themes and icons), but when I saw that screenshot I remembered that they are on deviantart.com under icons (either mac or dock icons), for the rox set I think that link is provided where he got that icons.

    No, they are not mine.

    One is from rox website and one from fvwm site. OSX look alike, well yes. To show parent where he went wrong. I hate OSX layout.

    btw. I always have light yellow with vera black fonts terminal. No eye candy there, just productivity.

    Guess what, and some people do like it.

    People who fall in the "power user" catagory are important too

    If the are that then they sure know how to copy paste gconf command.

    btw. I've never edited any gnome conf file. gconf has CLI interface, and even more I used it once up until now, to set up thumbnail reader for file type.

    Let me be the critic of your desktop.

    ***kin lame.

    I understand that you envy to OSX. But at least be consistant.

    1. Right toolbar is looking like outer space. Clock and icons on it
    don't belong to this setting.

    2. Menu spripes are way too dark and font style is way of to be part of
    such setup.

    3. Ripped off Mac icons. Very inovative

    4. All not Apple icons look but ughly

    5. Icon being resized and coveringothers is way off to be usable.

    6. Terminal is unreadable.

    Nothing but very bad OSX ripoff. I think some OSx owners could even be
    insulted with it.

    And do please, learn the magic.

    Now, please! Just what is hard to configure. You can still right click folder and choose browse.

    Except singleclick and Rollup instead of Maximize on Windows title I can't imagine a thing from default behaviour that should be changed. And even that is more like my preference.

    Actualy, I said the same thing.

    And after that I tried spatial Nautilus.

    What now? I love it. First File manager that got better than OS9 Finder (I was considering this one as the best approach so far).

    There's one only thing that I miss, some gconf key to swap middle and left click for my notebook. I don't have middle button and clicking both is a bit painfull. But then again there's still Close parents shortcut.

    Two pages of stupid rant (unfortunately without possible refund). If that was a solid rant I wouldn't say. But this childish approach to trolling is a real example how people lack inteligence.

    I bet OSX wouldn't get better if this stupid wrote the article. Can't change color, yeah, so I said it, and now.... people stop using it!

    Epiphany - Linux-Gnome
    Galeon - Linux-Gnome
    Camino - OSX-Aqua
    Windows - ??? devels on M$ should make their Gecko-based browser (if there doesn't exist one already)

    Wrong, Mozilla isn't integrating with GNOME.

    They both only plan to cooperate (wich is very different from integrate).

    This cooperation looks like freedesktop.org, except that goals are different

    Actualy, not.

    As one investor is changing non-voting for voting stocks, and the other (Baystar is related to MS) proclaiming that SCO is not experienced to deal these legal situations (and buying first ones stocks).

    In my opinion Baystar;)MS is aiming to prolong this situation as long as possible, and thus buying shares from RBC.

    There might be the change, but probably only about who is leading this fiasco.

    But to be truthfull, I really don't understand why they prolong this. There was no benefit and Linux is still gaining in the same measure as it was (there was some research that showed that)

    Which more than frequently screw your system. If you don't believe just google a little "OSX update problem"

    Even both of OSX macs that I support, had problems with updates (Even though there were no trouble with them before).

    The last problems (I think it was september update), with them until I locked software updates from users.

    One lost all preferences (lost addresses and bookmarks were the most of the problem, he was lucky) and few programs started crashing. Second had troubles with (tray like) part of the menu. Whenever he mounted network disk icons started flashing and changing order, which made swaping keyboard almost impossible. And the fact that if cd or disk was mounted to long it became unmountable.

    Try googling and you'll find a lot users with these problems. Only possible fix - REINSTALL.

    Last time when I was following this IDE status Mono guys were still talking about implementing it.

    Yes, you got it right. But I still fear of "When two branches (resulting from a fork) survive, there's also usually a pretty decent reason".

    Right thing in my opinion would be a simple clause that if Sun loses interests in developing Java or it is shown as a stopper, and after that everything can go under different license.

    From the perspective of the CIO...
    Not if your software is being replace and not used (look a little bit from Suns perspective). Java is Suns valuable comodity.

    Exactly. Right way would be open sourcing but not allowing forks. Last thing I would like is to have 5-10 different JRE on computer, to get apps started.

    Open source, no forks and community involved under Suns supervision is the correct answer

    You are stupid... You don't know what you talk... List goes on.

    Expert is still as it was in text mode.
    M$ like??? No more than other Linux distros.
    Add user is in now firstboot service.
    So,... no root, by default you can't go on and not making nonprivileged user. That was still posible in RH9.

    I'm going to bite that one:)

    I Still have one 7.2 server box (and one at home). Kernel and all services are still compatible. Off course I always build from source and deploy rpm-s over yum from secure link (I always disable default ones, so I can test updates first before applying them, I simply can't afford stoppers).

    Few 8 and 9 RH servers of mine are updated on daily basis, same principle and all my last servers are FC1.

    Worked for me out of the box.

    It just proves one point that Apple and its X11 support isn't so perfect if you have to You shouldn't need to scour the web looking for plugins to make your program do...

    Off course, I use Linux:)

    Funny, when I try this on Linux and Gimp (FC1 and 2.0.0) and (FC2t3 and 2.0.1) there's no glitches like this, fonts are just as beatiful as on in Photoshop (must be related to X11 on OSX or something).

    And besides,... Gimp environment is Linux friendly not OSX friendly (Gimp behaves completely different than any other software on OSX).

    To sum it all up, writer had just as awkward position as I had when I run Photoshop (tryed to use my alerady paid versions) on crossover office on Linux (something just didn't belong there). As much as I was working with Photoshop in the past (few years of intensive usage, after that I traded it for Linux and Gimp), I found my self very uncomfortable with Photoshop interface as he with Gimp.

    Let me comment you back. (Not to bash Debian but I'm really interested)

    I run Fedora on my server and I can tell you that it lacks nothing, for your info, it's only gains against RH9.

    Few questions:)

    Why do you think that you need server version. I have two of them but can't realize why small enterprise would need RHES. Yes, there are gains for enterprise (I mean ENTERPRISE) but (for SME) other than paid RH support there's nothing, and even that is needed only in case that in-house lacks administration or administration is not good enough.

    Does Debian do server version, you said you changed to debian and now you cry about server?

    What does RH9 and Debian offer (on server part) that FC1 doesn't (I already told you that support lacks nothing, it has only gotten better)?

    Redhat just moved people distro where it belongs. Between people.

    Redhat still supports development in Fedora, and even funds it. Funny I've been noticing only improvements (since the change) and no stepbacks. Fedora is just as supported as RH ever was, no better, no worse (except there's much more choices now, yum instead up2date, and more public repositories). You'd notice if you try to search package for RH9 and same package for Fedora.

    I really don't know what is people problem with Fedora and neither does anyone that didn't jump to conclusion before even trying.
