    It was your decision to give stuff away. Don't expect sympathy if somebody tries to screw you by not giving anything back

    The one wrong here is you. No one is especting anything back (in fact when SCO was in Caldera times and after it contributed enough). Everybody just expects than no one shall take what's in reality theirs.

    P.S. This complaints are taking part in America mostly. By the way isn't in America Innocent until proven guilt. Taking that as a fact, SCO should be sued for FUD, they have proven nothing until now.

    Well, that kind of exaggerating would be preferable to anybody. The bigger the case, the more stupid this law would look in public.

    But major case is really needed in that part, otherwise, lonely suckers will just get screwed.

    Neither are they, bet I think they're morr serious about not understanding them selves than you about not understanding them and their stupidity.

    They will continue until they'll understand themselves and their stupidity

    P.S. I hope I wrote this understanding in some form of understandable matter that would be understandable even to SCO:)

    By the way, stupidity is just a formal legal expression of SCO claims

    I hope your country is not "that US":)

    US Laws clearly specify that security voulnerabilities should not be discussed with no one but program creator until that matter is solved. There's no free speech just as there ain't free burger at McDonalds.

    You can check for example how RH describes security voulnerabilities. First step is:

    blah, blah, that I'm not resident of United States, blah, blah, prohibited by law, blah, blah

    By the way there is a clear description why this is done so.

    wah, there's too many analysts on both sides. Let them decide who's right and who wrong.

    And I doubt SCO got it wrong, so the case where SCO copied rfom Linux seems UNLIKELY at best.

    Point taken just as IBM has both source codes and their analysts. I doubt they would be wrong. Hell, somebody's analysts have to be wrong. Either that or wrong interpretation of licences from one of the sides.

    Possible missinterpretations:
    - Derivative work
    - If it was copied , then who copied and what
    - Missinterpretation of GPL and providing LInux
    etc.

    As for me I don't care. If there was such copy/paste routine they would just correct and rewrite that code. Btw if you look at small portions updated in cvs that part of being copied much maes that impossible.

    It looks from the analysts comments as if the SCO claims have merit. Even a non-programmer can tell that two code blocks are identical. Most likely the code in question was copied and pasted in this case. This is too bad, but it underscores the importance of keeping others IP out of your IP.

    Yeah, just as I can show you two pieces of identical code and you'll be able to see that they're identical.

    What's more important is:
    None of the analyst said it was shown historical proof that code belongs to them

    Good thing I use Linux:)

    I know you're gonna feel frustrated. That doesn't mean real CMYK. If you'd read mailing lists you'd know that's naive CMYK suport.

    But next version of GIMP will have Color models that support real CMYK

    not If you're using pen. Menu is always on hand.

    btw. Menu is now different in 1.3, It's on every picture you have open, which by your definition leads that Photoshop sucks just because for a higher mileage to menu access. And new stacking tool dialogs are way cooler than Photoshop has.

    As second Photoshop changed some shortcuts and menu layout from 5.5

    Ehere's that better painting tools. I need rotating brush.

    Yeah, but GIMP sucks to use when you compare it side-by-side with Photoshop. Sure it can do a lot of the same things, and suffices for most Unix users when there is no better alternative. It still clunks like a square-wheeled rickshaw.

    In some other ways Photoshop sucks. I think that sooner or later you'll realize what my post said. Let me explain you in more simple logic. Sometimes you don't need a truck to move one brick. Use the right tool.

    If you are a graphics illustrator, you don't use The Gimp.

    You use Photoshop. It is the standard

    Wake up and smell the coffe. Since when is photoshop illustration standard. It's a prepress standard.

    other makes you auction body parts on eBay. (unless you have acquired a copy by other means, which I won't address). If you really NEED Photoshop, then buy it

    Thanks I bought two MacOS design collections, for that little PREPRESS WORK I need. I bought them for my two G4s which I really dislike infact hate, and one PC Design COllection which I'm currently testing under wine for a month or so

    No you shouldn't. I'm not trying to start some Photoshop-Gimp flamewar.

    If Gimp was working satisfactory for you until now, then you don't need CMYK. Which is the only fine line difference between them, and user interface, yes.

    I really need only RGB and pictures are not that big. During my tests Gimp proved to be more usable than Photoshop in my range of usage. But there's a clear line, printing professional usage can't include use of Gimp, except in some small cases where illustrations come in question.
