Yeah, I guess, you need that features on desktop

Now I bring SUSE and OpenBSD.

And I hope you'll enjoy them, I'll stay at RH. By the way where do I download SUSE??? I'm prepared to pay for support but only after I test it fully. (Hell, I lie, I already tested them, THEY SUCK)

Plain IDE only, no more BIOS ones after DAC BIOS problem:) Controller costs how much??? You can easy buy 10 spare of them

    Viruses?

I guess they could be a problem, and not. Backup Field is at least 2.5 big so it can cover daily and weekly basis, and not mounted on network, also not mounted on system, util called. Linux server.

If your computers are broken, nothing can save you, certainly not buying more of them.

Well infact you're wrong, I can buy any computer I want and fill the hole. But being prepared on that one spare machine just same as needed is already waiting:)

To conclude, buying 4 PCs with WHOLE LOT of space was WAY cheaper than buying one big server. And after two BIG server failures where's the POINT? Besides I feel much more secure now then those days. And much less careless. And there's also a great option for your backup machine to be powered off and autopower on schedule.

I don't believe in RAID5, second computer and separate volume is much better solution. Thrird backup is on separate location and runs backup on weekends. As we already suffered from more than 1 disk loss and guess what RAID5 meant that time (capital shit).

Secondary RAID5 is not really a secure option without separated backup. If you suffer corruption of controller that goes undetected for day or two, if you suffer virus you momentarily lose data on all drives, etc.

RAID5 might be a good way for preventing data loss but I can afford to loose one disk anytime. Most of the data is already on the second volume and a copy stored on local computers.

In Windows icons are either too small or too blury when you select big icons (sorry if I'm more selective than you but I preffer perfection).

Text by default is too small with small fonts, but when you select different sizes most of dialog boxes get screwed

If you select different DPIs some other dialogs and windows sizes get screwed and some fonts don't get resized

Cleartype doesn't work for alll apps, most of them still have old fonts without antialiasing.

I regularly use my Toshiba 5200 with its 15" screen at its native 1600x1200 resolution and I love it. It's extremely "usuable". I would never consider running it at a lower resolution. That display is one of the main reasons I bought it in the first place!

I belive it is "usuable", but I don't believe it's "usable", That kind of display might be usable only for softwares where people mostly use shortcuts and demand higher resolution as Photoshop does. AND I'm glad you're happy as I'm with mine.

There is no stopping where XML should end. For a fact no one is stopping you to add variables that are supported by some other software.

Nice examle is to take sodipodi svg, where element color is rgb in default but adds a CMYK representative.

What makes the use of that? Any software can pick rgb display color and colors in every software are the same, without helping of any profiles. Which means you could basicaly make svg that would be perfectly represented on web, as readable document and in dtp. Problems like that occure for example when you export drawning in freehand or corel and open in illustrator. Display Colors are not the same. Using the same technique could basicaly erase all problems with exporting svg animations on video.

But as I only described color extending, one can only imagine where it could extend.
