Just adding to the MEE TOO croud I guess, but I think KDE's getting close to surpassing the obvious ENEMY(TM). XP is already getting messy, I can't wait until the real fit hits the shan.
Brainstorm... They should adopt a Tucows style..

They could always go with a "mirror" system, a lot like Tucows but without the heavy overhead on bandwidth that Tucows now occupies.
Basically they'd have mirrored affiliates who in return get some banner space on the page of thier own. When you connect to LWN, you initially select your fastest or closest mirror, and a (shudder) cookie is set so that the next time you visit, you get the same fast page without having to go through the selection process.
Problem: keeping the latest content on the mirrors. I can see how that could be done as well, I don't know how foolproof it would be.
LWN staff: if you're reading this, thoughts?

...these types of pages could support themselves with four guys and a rackspace co-lo? I don't see why they can't again. I don't understand why they need the backing of Tucows to survive. If they've changed so much that they need the backing of a dot bomb to continue, maybe they should start fresh.
I liked Jamie's responses. I think he's got a good grasp of the long term goals of Consumer Advocacy. Instead of this year's fad issues, he seems to be looking ahead 10 to 15 years. Tough job, but I'm glad somebody's doing it!
University education does not reflect reality. At my workplace you're encouraged to share code and ideas, because through this process everybody excelerates quickly. You can't code in a vaccum, and this kind of thing shows why some are doing, and others are just teaching..
We have to get away from these keyboards. If you think about it, it's not as natural as gestures. Imagine coding in sign-language...um, you'd get used to it.
Anyway, I have a feeling, like gasoline, television and so many other legacy tools that are so entrenched in our lives, this will be slow to catch on. I'd like to be an early adopter but I'm not smart enough, heh...
Our natural communication tools should be our interface to our machines...
I think the next boundry in Internet evolution is a proper graphical representation of the digital enviornment. While a proper representation at first appears just as eye candy, further thought reveals it as an important step in understanding the relationships we have to the world we're creating...

I'd like to see all the features in 2.4 ironed out before we move on...
