So much for making "Open Source" user friendly, eh?

Slashdot would be so much better if people like you kept their unconstructive criticism to themselves.

Surprisingly, Slashdot has lived over 4 years with this unconstructive criticism. In fact, that is the majority of the posts.

Its obvious (not only by your uid) that you are a newbie.

If you don't like it, don't read the comments.

Do you even know jon katz?

Go read his other articles. You'll find much of the same thing.

When he "realizes" stuff, he posts it as "new", and gives it a buzzword. Especially, if it involves technology. THEN he can say "This NEW technology is causing the stuff I just realized".

Now read the article, he realizes that media hypes stuff. He comes up with a buzzword, "Hypermedia". Now he sees it on the net (oblivious that he is hypermedia himself, but that's another story), so he comes up with the idea:
The Internet causes a new phenomenon known as hypermedia.

Follow this with an article full of tripe, and you have a Jon Katz Feature.

Of course flames and arguments ensue, the entire community not only disagrees with Jon Katz, but hates his writings. But /. refuses to fire him.

Thank you for participating in Jon Katz Crap 101.
    Please sign in.

PS - Before you give me the "take him off your reading list", read this:
I enjoy the "features" section in /.
I think it could really start some great conversations.
Unfortunately, Jon Katz isn't good at talking to this audience.
I continue to read him, in hopes that he will be able to speak to the "geek" community.
So, no, I'm not taking him off my read list.

Or the fact that michael, who has yet to release censorware.org to the public, and who is a giant moderator with unlimited mod points (read: censor), is the author for YRO.

Or that CmdrTaco, a believer in YRO, wants to censor out anonymous posters??

Or that any comment that states that anything in microsoft is good or anything open source is bad is modded down?

That the majority of /. dislike Jon Katz's posts, but /. won't can his ass?

    Shall I go on??
