What the hell kind of name is G4techTV? That sounds absolutely horrible. I like that they're bringing over a lot of TechTV shows (though not unless they bring over the TechTV people with them, including Leo), but the name just sucks IMO.
Combined names work for soul-less huge corporations who merge (AOL Time Warner), but TV stations? How about CBSABCFOX?
I fully agree. As I posted above, I've *tried* watching it. It was painfully bad. I don't even want to think about what they're going to do with x-play and TSS.
I almost hope none of the techtv hosts agree to relocate to Los Angeles, that would solidify my hopes of G4 failing miserably.
I'm sure it will be replaced with something highly mediocre. Weren't they thinking of combining G4 and TechTV? Now its just going to be G4? I've personally tried to watch G4 and couldn't do it.
I don't understand why they would can the entire network.
Well, now that TechTV is gone, I've got no reason to keep the digital cable around, everything else I want is on basic cable.
You make it sound like you're working out while at the computer! Overextending your arm to reach that dratful mouse? Its only 4 more inches away with the keypad there. You might just try moving the mouse closer to the keyboard.
If you find yourself getting tired by moving your arm enough to reach the mouse, it might be time to look into exercise.
Whoever is in charge of SCO's public relations department should never have another job anywhere. Ever. Every linux geek on the planet already hates them with a passion, and now they attack every linux AND windows/mac geek's favorite tool?
Maybe they should team up with whoever is doing the same at the RIAA and Microsoft, and just form one giant asshole of a company to make it easier for everyone to figure out who to bash on slashdot.
Particularly ones who charge eh?
What about gaim or any of the other clients that are free?
Hopefully none of the developers buy this license, or it will prompt others like AOL or Yahoo to take similar actions. Who's going to foot the bill then? Users!
Thelonious Monk - Specifically Solo Monk and Traditionals
Medeski Martin & Wood - The Dropper and Uninvisible
Jazz Mandolin Project is also good.
If you can't afford it, you could always look for live recordings of them (not sure about Monk though) online, legal and free. www.furthurnet.com , www.etree.org
Everybody is screaming about the price, but its actually not that bad. Obviously SuSE isn't expecting people to go out and buy this instead of their regular linux for the home.
If you wanted to install Windows XP Pro and Office XP on five computers, you can bet its going to cost you a whole lot more than 600 dollars.
All thats left is to see if it works well enough to be worth the money.. I'd say for a business looking for stability and an identical setup on multiple computers, this is perfect.
Real didn't make this program. Rhapsody is a seperate program at www.listen.com who has many sponsers. As far as I can tell they are all the same, they just have a different logo. I got mine through www.jambase.com, RoadRunner has one, as do many other companies.
What, am I the only one who picked up on the Door into Summer reference in the post I replied to?
It's not worth the time travel. That stuff is dangerous; you don't want to accidentally end up in 2030 or so.
I hear it just barely missed the recommended Longhorn Specs. But once you turn of some of the extra graphical crap it should run alright.

For taking my favorite channel off the air.

Could someone please explain how this adds any functionality that mplayer doesn't already have?
I've never come across a movie that mplayer wasn't able to play.
Trying to make some money in a crappy economy?
