YMMV indeed. I've had no such problems with my XP and 1.4 from stage 1 so I must lack that motherboard memory controller that screws up:)

The only thing that's managed to lock up the machine is KDE3 with some unstable keramik update..
BTW I use the regular x86 ebuilds, not ~x86.
