    What ever happened to interfaces deigned for a *user*, not a techie ( like we had with the newton for example )?

    The interfaces should adapt to us, not the other way around.

    Will take a hit due to this in the long run. Your cute convenient PDF/ebook/mobi/bla format of the month wont be around in 1000 years for our successors to read. Hell they may not survive 5 years since they are now copyrighted digital bits to be restricted, modified and deleted by the powers that be on a whim.

    Sure they have their place and i have them myself, but if we lose books altogether, we as a society will lose our link to the future and past.

    I also prefer ( and support ) the little people. The RIAA is why small artists rarely see the light of day. They don't offer enough revenue stream to be worthy.

    And god help them if they go independent, as the RIAA is out to kill that off too. Its part of why they are attacking the entire p2p concept.

    Back to your question of why: if we can kill them off it will let ALL artists bloom on their own merits and talents, not just the big buck "manufactured" artists.

    Not on my watch he wouldn't, at least not directly. He would be given a data dump that *I* safely gathered for him. The 2 networks would never cross paths.
