Expect it to only get worse, either Netflix pays up or they will be out in the cold. The ISPs will end up actively throttling them at some point, and giving away bandwidth 'free' if you choose t heir own pay service...
But streaming eats away at your bandwidth cap. Plus its harder to keep a copy for later ( or a portable device ) unless you can touch the disk with your grubby little hands.
Other than ( tainted ) history, is there a real point? FreeDOS surpassed the functionality long ago and is Opensource.. There are several editors that are available too, that are open and free...
TV is not a government entity, you want equal time, pay up. You have no rights of speech with a privately owned business. You want your time in the spotlight during prime time, go out and make a show that doesn't suck, then pay for its spot to air. Its quite simple. Quit with the 'entitlement' mentality already.
Yes, i do realize the FCC says you have to give SOME time away to public interest to get a broadcast license, but not equal time.
While i agree it was terrible, no one at Microsoft forced you to use it. So people should be shot just for making something you personally dont approve of?
So this guy took copies of classified ( proprietary ) code, then gave it to ( effectively ) the enemy ( the consumer ) and hes going to jail, not being given a Nobel prize?
How does that work, i thought we now supported this sort of act?
But what id did is not really stealing. The original code was there ( unless he also erased all copies that Microsoft had, then we *might* be able to call it theft ). He engaged in infringement and fraud. Both illegal acts, but different things.
With a 1000 year effective term, it would sort of be torture.
As far as the story, this isn't really about justice, its about punishment. Not saying its right or wrong to punish offenders, but at least get the words right

That would be my understanding.

Sounds like pandering to me.
Its just a barter system, so that makes sense.
Still dont like the idea of the Feds trying to tax me more, but the concept of property is sound at least.
We are good until then.
Then it all falls apart.
Mandated neutrality would cut into the potential blackmail AT&T can dish out.
Heading over to the Bloomberg link to see the video, and what is the ad they have ? One for Delta Airlines.
I dont use twitter so i could be wrong, but if you remove one of their key foundations, what is left?
Of course they are coming, but i doubt they will be simple "caps", as for real control i see no real way around internal electrodes.
Of course it is that way. The moron was just being sarcastic ( or is dumb as hell )

If this isn't a prime example of why IP laws need to be tossed into the garbage i don't know what is.
Sure, its great Fluke stepped up the plate to help out, but this should have never been an issue in the first place. It's a *COLOR* ... geesh
Why would anyone still be doing this? They wont be supporting this really soon now, so everyone should have moved on by now.

Ya. Gotcha.

Just what we need, yet another version to fight with and worry about..
And of course you cant ever change an IMEI number..

Which isn't free, and the entire point of this.
Are for losers. Some of us dont believe in them. At all.
Which is limited in the UK. ( this isn't the US we are discussing here, this time )
And then just the act of using a darknet is grounds for jail. Wont matter what content, just that they catch you doing it.
Nope, not one of those.. not at all.. Is anyone surprised?
