Anti-copyright does work for the consumer. It works against content creators that want a stranglehold on their so-called IP. Sounds like hes scared his gravy train might derail and have to start working again and create new content for people..
Who is going to pay for the services? No one is gong to pay for this sort of thing, so AD revenue is what pay for places like Facebook. If you bypass it the money slowly dries up and the service goes away.
Even if people did pay, you wont see the amount of money being made, so less incentive for it to happen. Advertisements is the only way its going to happen.
Right or wrong, the reason a large site like Facebook stays large as most people dont want to have to go different places to do what amounts to the same thing.
Would you rather go to 10 friends house each week for 30 minutes each, or everyone hang out at one for the afternoon? Most people would not choose all the running around.
if *I* make a copy, nothing is lost as i was not going to purchase the product the first place. You may think it diminishes the product's value, but it doesn't.
The artist ( or developer, etc ) also might make a sale later due to my recommendation as without the copy, i would have never heard it in the first place and could not recommend it. If i determine the product had value to me, id even pay for it afterward.
You may see it as a way to get out of paying for something, while i dont. If it wasn't for the potential abuse by others, all products could be that way. Get it for free, and if you dont like it you dont pay ( or you get return it no questions asked, if its a ' hard good' ).
As long as you dont have alternatives, the customer's interests come last. There is a line you dont want to cross when you start to lose customers, but that point hasn't been reached.
Its quite clear what is going on, and the difference between honest results based on popularity, and paid results, based on how much you can afford to pay.
No different than them going thru children's bags and lockers and confiscating any other contraband. ( even their car is fair game while on school property )
And if they dont, and get caught they get suspended. Just because you know people will break the 'rules' doesn't mean you dont enact them ( and enforce to the best of your ability ).
In general that is true. Sometimes its legit, but often times its not and just a tactic to squeeze the companies. Rarely does a true monopoly that is abusing its power get nailed. They have the money and influence to prevent that.
That is true, unless you want play services so you can have customers that actually want to buy your stuff. Being blessed is required to include play ( legally ) in your product.
Without that, you are 'yet another c heap-ass junk tablet maker' and are stuck selling out of Walmart and target..
Cell phone blockers, and/or 'turn them in at the door'. ( get caught with something, suspension. get caught using it, expulsion ). Problem solved, and the whiny snot nose kids can start doing actual school work instead of screwing around.
Their network, their rules. Don't like it, dont use it and buy/build your own. its really quite simple. You are NOT entitled to anything on another persons property.
Now, should they explicitly tell you they are installing certs that are required for access, perhaps it would have been polite, ( tho few would understand it ) but i'm sure there was far reaching something somewhere that you agreed to anyway, so they really dont have to tell you anything.

How about forcing them to refund tuition to people they lied to in order to get them to sign up?
It is getting hard and harder to deal with Google outside the USA.
Don't blame Google. Blame your lame ass government that wants to harass and extort them.
I think i see your tinfoil slipping.

The government is doing some really bad shit and we want them to stop.
You think you want them too. You like waking up ? The stuff the government is doing behind your back is helping your ability to continue to do that.
Sometimes you have to do questionable things to combat the bad guy. They dont play by 'the rules'.
Einstein didn't steal state secrets and give them to the enemy either.

While on private property you agree to the terms and conditions, you can lose many of your rights. You gave them the license to take the phone.
Ok ok ok.. spell check sucks...
I tend to agree that they should be watching, as in this case its a choice you made. it wasn't forced down your throat.

Google can just pull out, refuse any ads from any company based in India. Its time for Google to start using the power they have.
Lets see how long it takes for the Indiana government's mind to change.
