If they manage to stop ALL piracy, then the incentive for people to use their software will decline in general.
its a net win for them to saturate the market with their software, even if its pirated, as that helps push out competition.
Personally i dont care either way, i refuse to use their products and suggest the same to others. Not that they care much due to their size, but i have steered at least 100 users away from their products over the last several years.
Last i heard AJAX was built off javascript, which has a VM at its core. Im talking traditional sandbox VM's here, not the 'full hardware emulation' style of VM.
Like i said, words dont effect me. WORDS. Now, if you take action, thats a different story. But im not the least bit afraid of words, regardless if they are kind or hateful.
If the provider was running things properly the end user would have to request the software to be installed and configured. ( if it wasnt already and only needed access ) They wouldn't be able to do it on their own and hose things up due to lack of appropriate rights.
If the 'entre server' was shared, or the end user was able to even install an application, its the providers fault and they should be shut down.
I dont see a problem with that scenario. Though i think that a PC in 'buiness setting' is also overkill and unsafe. Business users dont need any more power then a terminal ( think thin-client movement )
How can you base the value *only* on the single piece when the entire product could not exist without the part in question?
Sure, its not worth 100% of the 'product' value, but i think its worth more then then just the 'single component' level, espcially since it was used illegally. Need to have some sort of penalty for doing wrong things.
That doesn't hold true if you give it enough time. A lot of cities fall to ruin over time and are returned to the land, in time.
I also bet that once we start running out of food due to 'progress', buildings will be coming down anyway. More 'land' will be available for farming after the revolution, and building burnings.

Yes, the server authenticates with microsoft on a regular basis, then passes that down to the clients when its time for them to phone home or die.
The infrastructure wasnt in place when SUN tried it.
Its almost there now.
Bah, that's as bad as calling copyright infringement theft.
Are we going to start getting take down notices from ad agencies now too due to this twisted logic?
I never said javascript is java, but i still think it runs in a VM within the browser.
More users and more developers would be a good thing.
But please, leave the attitude that i see too often in the linux world community. We don't need it on this side of the street.
( attitude is one reason i left the linux camp long ago. And i was there in the very beginning.)
You mean we aren't being told everything due to national security concerns?
Wow, what a suprise.
Geesh. Things are really getting out of hand at the patent office.
This should be someting for contract attorneys/court, not the patent office.
What was he going to do with the domains once he took possession? Sell them back to the people he defrauded?

If you dont watch it, most any religious group will be considered to spew hate speech.( which they all do at one point or another )
Personally i say if words hurt you, there are more fundamental issues going on. Dont like what is being said? Then dont read it. Its that simple.
I have more then one, and can only drive one at a time, ( heh ) so the others sit in the drive awaiting their turn.
So at *any* point in time in the last 6 yeras there would be at least one car in the drive, if not more.
Its a virtual machine.
Not going to debate its merits as ive not seen it yet, but at least call it what it is.
Tried that a while ago, and It looked like the same exact image for my area.
Reason i know its at least 5 years old is due to the lack of any car in the driveway. No way for me to know how much older tho.
Cool, can i get some of my neighborhood? The stuff on google is a good 5 years old, if not older. The resolution is pretty poor too.
I dont care what your political affiliations are, or how you feel about the war, this is just wrong.
Neutering the age old toy ( any more then they did in the 70's.. that was bad enough ) is insulting. I suggest a boycott.

And anything that ran on it.( Atari Writer anyone? )
Or 1000's of dos apps, like Framework, Symphony.. Hell even Word for DOS wasnt bloated.
No, its the risks of non-technical people using a computer. Give people a terminal instead of a 'PC', and problems like this go away.
So a manufacturer ties their products together . what a suprise! This was never expected
Ford or GM doesn't do that, nor does GE.. Yep, this is really surprising.

No, they *commit* more crime.
