    Depends on who you talk too.

    I consider things like Christmas or Halloween as holidays, not vacation days. To me vacation days are a different idea.

    Just because you feel guilty for the acts of your ancestors doesn't make your biased assumptions accurate.

    Personally, id quit if it wasn't allowed to stay up.

    Not that i really care about what the content is, but if they started restricting speech ( yes, its legal for them to do that, they are not the government.. ) id not want to be a customer of theirs.

    Besides, if you are that much of a baby where a few words hurt you and your so-called religion, then you really need to re-evaluate your position.

    I do believe that you give up your right to refuse a search once you enter the store. ( the last time i was in a BB store, there was a sign upon entry about searching of packages ).

    Now, out in the lot, that might be a different 'agreement' since its owned by the property holder, not BB, but its still private property so its a right you can give up. Out on public proprety they the constitution comes into play. But not while in the bestbuy lot. Much as you can give up your right to dress as you please while in the mall, or carry a firearm ( in states where its legal in public ).

    Legally, does that refusal constitute calling the cops to have you arrested ( i seriously doubt it ), or just ban you from entering the store again, i dont know. ( if you come back after banishment its trespassing, but that isnt what happened here )

    Its a real OS, and more then useable.

    YOU may not like DOS, but that doesn't negate its usefulness. You might be suprised how much its used these days, and how much support is still out there.

    Thats just a cost of doing business for a company that large. Fines at that level are almost meaningless. They spend more on an AD campaign, and they got free press with the suit.

    He has input today. Has he "banned" the practice in all churces in the world that he has influence over?

    Regardless if the law is there, the church could always just pony up their fair share. Continuing to benefit from those laws can be pinned on him. Hes a hyprocrit for simply denouncing the practice and not having any intent on actually stopping it. Then again, the pope is one of the orginal politicians.

    ( and yes i know not *all* countres have this practice, just the countires that mean anything. In some countires the church IS the state.. )

    Not getting into the case in the story as there may have been ample proof, but how does the FBI decide if you are selling stolen items?

    Some people have lots of stuff to sell, and dont have any proof of ownership ( i know i personally couldnt prove i bought 2/3 of what i have.. ). Or is it by what the item is? Again, lots of people have lots of stuff. How can you tell just from what a person is selling that its stolen?

    Im all for catching criminals, but this sounds ripe for abuse: " we see you are selling something we dont approve of this week, come downtown with us to answer a few quesions', and also use that as probable cause to search/impound your home.

    There must be an audience, or the industry wouldn't be cracking down on them to force them out of business ( except the industry sponsored ones of course ).

    Sort of like spam, it wouldn't be there unless there was money to be made.

    Ok, so run them in parallel for 10 years. Its not like there is a hurry here.

    And since you seem to hik we cant create 'new', what happens when one of the old ones die and we cant repair it due to its age? At least if we have tried to replicate the functions with modern equipment we have a chance.

    Cost is relative, in this case.

    FBSD has defaulted to a VESA mode for some time now i thought. Not that its 100% but it covers 99% of what is still running ( and that you would want to try running X on ).

    Umm no i don't think so.

    A true super computer has an architecture behind it. Just throwing some ethernet connections between some cheap PC's isn't nearly the same.

    Sure, might be cool to show your friends, and isn't useless, but don't call it a 'super computer'.
