    When they pry the keys out of my cold dead fingers. Dont tell me when i have to give up my 'private vehicle'. You may like mass transit but some us REFUSE to deal with it. i you want to ride the bus, go ahead but leave me out of it.

    And you are somewhat incorrect about moving the pollution:

    1 - central power stations are cleaner then all the cars it could replace. Are they 100% clean, no of course not. But they are cleaner.
    2 - coal plants are really clean these days AND use domestic fuel
    3 - nuclear is even cleaner, and is the future.

    If you have a corporate MOLP agreement you have to upgrade within a set timeframe as your license to use what you have now goes away.

    And if that means more servers ( for their licensing schemes ) or new hardware, well, it sux to be you.

    So to answer the question, lots of people will in time.

    hardcore 'Pirates' will get around it
    large corporates dont care
    average home users will have to upgrade anyway and most of the pcs they buy will already have the microosft tax.

    The only losers are small businesses caught in the middle. And these days they have more options open to them, and can 'just say no' if they want.

    if you take 'defensive action' due to another persons words, you have crossed the line and only show how much of a hypocrite you are. ( its ok if you say things about others, but they cant return the favor ) and perhaps you should be on the extermination list anyway.

    Now, if i change my rhetoric to 'lets go out and sring up so and so tomrrow night' , then you can assume imminent harm and take *defensive* action.

    Public forums are just that, public. If they dont want public comments to be posted, then they arent public. If they are open to the public then they arent 'private' as you seem to believe they are.. Private boards do exist too. If you are so scared of what someone mght say to you, dont read a public board, or go out side.

    Their time has come and gone.

    The push is towards back to thin clients ( remember the 3270's ) due to vastly reduced support costs and more control/security. Sure we have tried this in the recent past and it failed miserably, but technology has again caught up to make it practical with todays users's needs.

    And remember, eventually, what happens in the corporate world filters down to the home user.

    Wont be running your apps online eh? I bet you already do to an extent.. webmail ? thats one example.

    Is microsoft the answer? I hope not, but the concept is valid.

    Does a user care it runs thru QEMU along the way ? ( aside from the speed issues of course ). They see 'windows' applications on their OSX desktop, using wine.
