got a virus or worm at work or at home. Sure, I have cleaned many a virii off of my users machines. My point is that most people who get infected are morons. They just click on anything in their inbox and happily send it along. The people who write the worms and virii (and let them out) are just taking advantage of the collective stupidity (when it comes to computers) of your average person. If people didn't take advantage of stupidity, do you think we would ever elect a government offical in the US?
I disagree. I have WM running on a 750mhz and I wouldn't change. Even with fast CPUs, why install bloated software if you don't need it. That is why I stopped using that certain other OS. WM is a fast and stable.
I have given up on playing.mov and most other multimedia on my linux box. My wife still has win98 on her machine. If I want to watch something on the web, I just use the win98 box. When it comes to things like this, Linux apps are in the dark ages. Sorry, but its true. Its just too much of a pain in the ars to get working.
Xmas is just going to have....

to wait this year. Who has time for it when there are better things to do, like downloading and compiling and applying patchs.
Ok, I shouldn't beat a dead horse, but have time to kill til work is over. I do believe you need an xserver to run any decent game made in the last decade or so. I just meant that there is a lot more to linux than linux. And do you call everything that goes into a distro, linux? maybe you do, maybe you don't. I guess thats why its xbill and not linuxbill. blah, blah, blah. like it matters. who is up for some fragging. nneedddd tttoooo fffrrrraaggaggggggg
I would have to go with the obvious...Quake3...and I really like Rune.
You can get some of the older games from Loki for under ten bucks at ebgames.com.
I think Loki's demo app is nice. Download one app and you can just choose which demo you want to try.
sit through crappy theme music (enterprise), I'll watch it. I can see it now.....Green aliens with horns, aliens with big teeth, aliens with personality complexes, aliens with secret love affairs, aliens that die and come back to life on other networks.
Since when are we fighting a war? Why must we war with everthing. I personally don't like Microsoft's software. I therfore use an alternative. This did not take an act of Congress. I simply changed the software I use. As long as there are still options, how can there be a MONOpoly???? Stop fighting and start using your time to do something meaningful...like frag. Okay, thats still fighting. At least its fun.

Now that is the one game I would shut down X for. I wish I still new someone that ran a board.

Linux is not a platform that supports games. Linux is a kernel.

Well, there are the ultra-geeks that learn anything that they can and there are the people who have learned the knowledge to salary ratio.
actually, I was suggesting that Bill Gates was posting on /. as an AC. ha-ha.
It looks like ol' Bill is starting to post on /.
